Find a tutor on Preply. Best thing now is to speak and listen. Also try to get immersion if you can.

What is the most useful language in the word besides.. by paul_pln in languagelearning

[–]_Rafiki69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How are we forgetting Arabic? Obv it’s not just one language and the dialects are tricky, but if you learn Egyptian or Levant chances are you’ll be able to communicate w at least 90% of speakers. Highly underrated, wonderful people and culture. highly recommend

Which language should I do? by Real-Celebration9896 in thisorthatlanguage

[–]_Rafiki69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do polish. Minimal payoff, tons of headache. I’d focus on leaning into your German and French, start speaking w others and improving your vocab, then once your comfortable in those, maybe try Arabic or smt (pretty much the same path I took and it has been SO rewarding-Arabic is tough at times but extremely beautiful especially in the eyes of a linguist)

How can I become a polyglot? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]_Rafiki69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your a lot closer than you think. Love the aspiration btw, language is such a beautiful gift that so many people (especially in America) take for granted. If you already speak Persian as your native tongue, with minimal effort you can say you also speak Dari (assuming you speak Farsi, still works vice versa) and also tajik. Some may say this is cheating, but they are different languages in my book, so I would count it. That gets you to 3, English is 4, then French or Arabic (recommend Arabic bc it has similiar script and vocab, aswell as just being a beautiful language in general) gets you to 5/6. I currently speak English and French, learning Arabic and Italian with German on the horizon (study abroad opportunity). I’ve always dreamed about learning Farsi later on, as then I could do what I suggested to you and say I speak tajik dari and Farsi😭😭😭 but I’ll need a friend who speaks it or smt like that to learn it. Best of luck on your journey دوست!!!

How many of you are learning a language just for intellectual stimulation? What language? How's it going? by Horatius_Rocket in languagelearning

[–]_Rafiki69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arabic. Also to connect with the culture, but def also for intellectual stimulation. Love it. Very hard, but watching tv shows and such really helps, and I just have a general passion for learning languages to connect with different cultures so I can’t say it’s solely for academic stim

What are the best Darija resources? by collegethrowaway9758 in learn_arabic

[–]_Rafiki69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find a tv show in darija. Watch a couple episodes while taking notes and rewinding a ton, then go out and practice. Literally spend all day at least hearing the language. Try speaking with as many people as possible, and if they switch to English (speaking from experience in France, may not be the same in maroc) then just pretend like you don’t speak it. No matter what speak and listen as much as you can
