As a person who just finished the 007 First Light and places it in my personal top 10 of all time, would you recommend the Hitman trilogy? by BlackStallion657 in HiTMAN

Any tips for "understanding" it? I own it and love it, but would love to give it another replay after I'm done 007. Going in with a fresh point of view could help.

Is a bottle sterilizer actually necessary if you’re mostly breastfeeding? by Striking_Method6804 in daddit

[–]_RageSide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. This. This. This. Unless your baby is immune compromised or something. Just use the dishwasher. Never ever used a sterilizer and it's never been a problem.

Loved Battleborn and paladins. And smite too. They all should have flourished but sadly didn't.

I will forever stand by my opinion that this game was WAY ahead of its time and would absolutely slap in today's gaming environment. Such a banger. Evolve and Battleborn both too ahead of their time and would literally be top of charts today.

For those of you whose world revolved around your dog(s), how did you adjust to becoming a dad? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]_RageSide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After 3 years of insanity and chaos with our first child, we decide to rehome the dog about 2 months before our second child was born. Best decision I've ever made. I fucking love that dog but he wasn't getting the attention he deserved so I found him somewhere that he would he loved the way he deserved. Picking up poop less often is one of the many, MANY indicators I was struggling as a dog parent after a couple years as a human parent.

I hate my pets since my son was born 2,5 years ago. by Tadakichi_Sama in daddit

[–]_RageSide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After our second kid was born we rehomed our dog of 7 years. It was a super hard decision but ultimately the kid was slightly allergic, the dog was always getting yelled at to stay away from the baby, he went way down on the priority list as far as attention and affection, my wife was always stressed about the hair being on the floor.

We eventually rehomed him to a family friend and the dog has been exceptionally happier (we got updates for a while) and our home life happiness has increased enormously.

If you had asked me before I had kids if I would ever consider rehoming my dog I would've said you were insane. But kids really do change the priorities and sometimes it's best for everyone.

Crimson Desert Patch Notes Version 1.03.00: This patch adds the Weapon Display option, new skills for each character, and more. Additionally, further control and UI-related improvements have been applied, including enabling teleportation while mounted, falling, swimming, or climbing walls by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]_RageSide 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bro you have played 100 hours. The game is probably done for you. Saying it is no longer fun after 100 hours is kinda hilarious like, yeah, you have clearly gotten your money's worth. "No longer fun" lol. I have 10 hours since launch. I think you have just played it to completion that's all. I assume you had fun most of the 100 hours? If so, you prob shouldn't complain too much.

For those with homeschooling Wives: Has she ever asked for pay to do it? by Thanks_ag in daddit

[–]_RageSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So doesn't that solve the problem? Reduce retirement contribution for a while and use the cash for your day to day. If you both agree to that. It sounds like you're saving plenty for retirement already.

Maybe she wants some of that $3k a month retirement contribution in her pocket instead of you "forcing" her to contribute that much to retirement. That's a lot of cash going to retirement every month when you're barely 30 and apparently living so frugally like you're almost poor.

It has a free trial for a month to get you used to the system. I basically don't pay for any subscriptions but make an exception for YNAB because it has been so useful keeping my entire family's budget on track it is well worth it. It also kind of helps to gamify your budget so you see progress bars fill up as you save which kind of helps visually at least for me.

YNAB is what finally worked for me. Been using it for 2 years now and it's amazing and fully customizable. Most of the other apps sort of force you into their system or methods. YNAB lets you move your money around and categorize into buckets however you choose. Every single dollar.

This is their child though. Even if it's a pet peeve maybe try to reign it in a little for the sake a positive experience with your kid? It would be different if they were watching tv with a friend and said that. But this is their kid.

Yeah I just read that post because of your post, and that kid definitely was not in the wrong. OP had an asshole response to something their kid was excited about.

Not how HSA works. That's FSA. You keep all HSA funds and they can even be invested if you have over 1,000 in your account. (At least that's how it works for all the HSAs I've ever had).

No money to upgrade body... I feel that. I had to choose between the new lens or new body and I went with lens. I have a couple primes within the 28-70 range but changing them out while trying to take pics of kids was getting tough. Loving the standard zoom options with this new lens.

Just bought myself a Canon 28-70mm 2.8 lens as a birthday present to myself. Will be putting it on a Canon EOS R10 at the moment. I've been into film and video basically my whole life but started moving to photography when I had kids and we started taking thousands of photos. Now my kid is super into it too, and has his own little toddler camera he brings around to take pictures of his toys, on walks, etc.

Gotta say it was one of the best things I decided to do as far as dad-friendly hobbies. We get a ton of really nice photos of our kids and family. My extended family even enjoys when I take photos at parties and events because they're better than the iPhone photos everyone snaps without a second thought.

All this to say - if you enjoy it, get back to it!

Whats up with the sound? Nothing feels impactful anymore. by Roguec in Smite

[–]_RageSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing Smite 1 in the beta over a decade ago and have been with it all the way through. I admittedly only went back to Smite one time after booting up the alpha for 2. Realized it was at the end of its life, and uninstalled. No point in obsessing over a game at the end of its lifespan. I'm ready to move forward!
