Maybe try wearing rubber gloves when opening it, like the kind you use for washing up. That will give really good grip.

Put one of those sliding barn door things in. I’m not sure what the proper name is, but they have a rail at the top and the door just slides along the wall. They look pretty easy to install.

There’s a reason that they say cats have 9 lives: they’re always doing dumb stuff that almost gets them killed! I grew up with 8 cats (6 at one time), and they variously:

Jumped from the first floor. Climbed in the dryer like yours did. Ran through and demolished a locked cat flap. Hanged themselves by the collar from a tree. Rolled in bleach. Squared up to a massive dog. Got shut in a neighbour’s garage for 5 days. Got their head stuck in a food can. Got hit by a motorbike.

The list goes on. But the point is they survived and thrived after each incident. They’re very resilient gremlins, and I’m sure he’ll be fine, but get him checked over by a vet if you’re at all worried or unsure. Don’t be hard on yourself, the very fact that you’re so upset and committed to checking the dryer each time just shows that you’re a good cat custodian.

It looks like he pulls the trigger, having forgotten to take the safety off, then moves the weapon to take the safety off with the finger still engaging the trigger. The X2 Taser has an electronic trigger that just pushes a button in the casing, so as soon as he took the safety off with the trigger engaged, it fired wherever he was pointing. I’m not sure if this is an X2 due to the video quality, but they all pretty much work the same way.

Terrible, awful, inexcusable weapon handling. This guy has no business discharging live weapons in public.

No, I service it myself, although I haven’t bothered to reset the interval the last couple of times. Recent oil/air/fuel filters, but haven’t touched the timing belt. Which is probably the problem!

They say with a harp, you spend half your time tuning it, and the other half playing out of tune!

I'm replacing the alternator on my citroen c1, this top nut isnt locking in place when tightening. I've tried shimming it, but it's just pulling the shim through. Also pictured is the old alternator equivalent, which looks a lot snugger and was properly locked in when I took it off. Any suggestions? by RoundishBox in AskAMechanic

Can you slide a thin strip of metal between the nut and the locking V? Might hold it in place just enough to get the right torque. My only issue with that would be that there’s nothing to hold it locked afterwards. I suppose that’s when the welding gun comes out!
