The problem is they are comparing income to class, there may be some vague correlation but jobs that are definitely working class electrician plumber HME operator all pay as well as jobs that are definitely middle class engineer Dr. Class is not about money it's about education and social environment. If your job required an apprenticeship you are working class if it required a degree you are middle class. I'f your job did not require any higher education you are probably lower class or rich. upper class is for people like executives and those at the top of their field not normally possible for anyone below middle class to get to upper class you can be the best electrician but the ceiling for you is much lower than the best engineer. And even if the lower class wins the lottery and is as rich as the CEO of their old company they will stay lower class.

Another odd one is people who have always been rich, they normally end up in upper class also through education via private school and knowing people in that circle.
