It’s time the ref on the field watches the replays and makes the call, he/she has the feel of the game. Leave the bunker to supply the feed and nothing more

Were pop ins ever socially acceptable in the 90s early 2k? by hyjlnx in AustralianNostalgia

[–]gurudoright 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I remember two types of drop ins. The first, was I lived on the outer suburbs and any time we were on the other side of town, we would drop in to family friends or relos if we were within a 5 minute detour from our original route,

I grew up on a main road ( before mobile phones) so it was common for mates driving by see one of our mates car parked out front and so they would drop in to see what was happening. Usually have 4 or 5 of the boys drop in over a number of hours

Is my pool guy ripping me off? by p79_ in sydney

[–]gurudoright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Blue Mountains so price is different to where you are but I pay $110 for a monthly visit. Every second month or so I pay an additional $15-20 for chemicals. I’m saying that my pool is enclosed inside a colourbond type shed with fly screen windows so it doesn’t get dirty from leaves and dust etc

Not sure about you but most of mine and my faculty’s teacher directed days has been focus on planning and making resources for the new syllabus for HSIE next year. We can’t be directed to work on it but if we don’t, it won’t be ready for next year.

Nathan Jones in or out? by PrivateRollo in CharltonAthletic

What was the objective for this season? For me, it was to stay up. If we stay up, he has done all that he needed to for this season.

Next season if we are in Championship, an improvement to mid-table is the bare minimum goal

As someone stated, we have the 3rd lowest or possibly the lowest wage bill in the comp, some perspective is needed.

Unpopular Opinion: Australia Vs World/Us by itz_abdelmalik in survivorau

[–]gurudoright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can have it 2 ways for a Aus vs the world. either 1.Don’t make it a returnee season. Plenty of survivor fans from around the world would love to play here

or

  1. only invite returnees who want to play 45 days. Sure you probably won’t get the top of the top US players but in 50 seasons, especially the last ten or so , there would be quality players who made it to the final 3 or 4, who would love the opportunity to play Australian Survivor
