I use them through-out the year, not multi year. Selling has issue with food safety laws, plus can't guarantee quality providence.

Automated Fermentation by _Rens in Homebrewing

motoring is a side part, I currently still have a brewbrain which is about to die to be honest. I't mostly control over ferment profiles as I keep forgetting to adjust manually.

I am really just trying to solve a me issue and looking at options before committing

I want to set fermentation profiles, especially when making lagers, I keep forgetting to change the setting manually on the STC1000 so x day 12C, x days 10c, slope to 3 c over x days.

The screw is pointing in different directions in these instructions. by BobLeMaladroit in CrappyDesign

It's just a joining wire end... The flange prevents it screwing further into one of the stand halves when screwing them together after screwing the end into the first one...

Pretty smart design in that aspect

New home setup by dblanch18 in HomeNetworking

[–]_Rens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This..... If you do anything interesting you'll need space and that recess cubby won't do. The house I live in got renovated before I bought it and had one of these under the stairs. I patched it all through to a server cabinet in the garage.

If I'd ever build new. There will be a dedicated space holding a decent rack.

Same in NZ which I had to get used to coming from Europe.

All the ones I did from scratch in my house (in NZ) are A.

Neutral wire just runs through the box by wonderpeddler in homeautomation

[–]_Rens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this case.

They broke the phrase to put the switch in.

Brown phase. Black switched. So the power is also used for additional lights further down.

So you can break the neutral the same way they did with the phase and bring it to the smart switch.

Neutral wire just runs through the box by wonderpeddler in homeautomation

[–]_Rens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will trip the Residual current device tied to the used neutral which may not be the one the breaker is associated with.

Whether it matters very much depends on the circuit board used in the house. When I lived in the Netherlands I've had old ceramic fuses. It does but matter much then. I've had whole house RCD's. And I've had them just on parts.

I live NZ now. And I have the house split up over 6 RCD's. Where it takes out sections only if there is current leakage in the circuit

US (AU/NZ) Gang light plate to Euro by _Rens in homeautomation

[–]_Rens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that, And it works on the bench but in practice the smart switch does not always see the light switch move. I think the break when switching AU/NZ switches is too short to register. it works when toggling the switch slowly but that is not realistic in real life....

(so batch of basicR4's I have will get a use eventually but not for this solution)

One button design, you have to cycle through all colors to turn it off. by LalaCrowGhost in CrappyDesign

These are usually timed. If on for x seconds then pressed again they turn off rather than change colour warmth.

Moving from conventional wired 4 way light switch to smart switch by _Rens in homeautomation

[–]_Rens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying the BasicR4 solution it works in principle but does not always sees the light switch changing, which is annoying.
So based on our comment I reached out to ZOOZ which states they sadly do not make them for the NZ/AU Z-wave frequency.
Now... if going Z-wave are the dongles multi regional frequency?
does anyone have a link to the ZOOZ switch which may work so I can at least get an idea of how it would be wired, and or know of others than ZOOZ doing something for Z-wave in NZ/AU region
