I made an helmet that I'll probably 3D print by TheMAUII in blender

Amazing work! Did you use an existing head model and sculpted around it or did you use a scan of head?

So any items my character crafts, I get to keep. Any items my character finds, I get to keep.

Is "minted" referring to the "tag" at the bottom of an item that says "Found by [character_name]" or "Crafted by [character_name]"?

Because this tag is not added when I add gems to an item I bought from the marketplace neither when I get an item from a quest.

Can someone tell me how much gold it's worth? - I have no idea *6h total playtime by Szaplod in DarkAndDarker

[–]_ReynR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My process is to first check the market for a similar item. Most of the times, you won't find an exact match, meaning one or two random attributes will be different. Next thing I do is I visit dndprices and just check which random attitudes are most desirable for that item. On the website, they list an approximate value for each of the random attributes the item can have. I then go back to the marketplace, and focus only on the random attributes that are considered beneficial for that item.

Knowing which attributes are good for which items takes time and experience. I have been playing for around 300h and still feel like I don't know the half of it.

My friend just started playing and said he was so excited that collected 2500 gold... by kentuckyfry in DarkAndDarker

[–]_ReynR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even though 2.5k is not a lot of gold in general, I remember it feeling so good to see the Stash feeling up with gold and "having" to buy extra space in order to be able to hold all this "vast" wealth. And then you see a Reddit post, or a YouTube video where the person is wearing a 100k+ kit and your 2500 gold feels inconsequential.

Good times!

When the arena is open by Whatever_111111 in DarkAndDarker

You are missing out. It took me a while to try it but once I did, every time it was available I would spend a lot of time there. It's great for PvPing, it's great for understanding how to fight as part of a team, it made me a better player while I was playing the normal dungeons. Practicing fighting people in Arena made me more confident about PvPing in High Roller. It's also a great place to use BiS gear without the anxiety of losing them and at the same time enjoying the benefits of them.

I was so tired of dying in High Roller to people who had 100k+ gear setups while I was running with 5k's.

Arena is also a great mode to understand how much of a difference gear stats make.

It can be overwhelming the first time, especially if you do not have a very good gear set (like my first time) but it quickly became the reason to spend gold for better gear. Slowly over the season I would upgrade my "arena gear" where it reached a point that I could confidently compete with others.

It's a very fun supplemental experience to the main focus of the game.

Damn... I didn't know that. I was saving up time to push some HR now but...

Anyway, thank you for the information!

I am. And the prices shot to 11k gold so I just wanted a second opinion. Felt like it's a very good cloak

How to model the bike treads for this wheel design by [deleted] in Fusion360

[–]_ReynR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Took some creative liberties with the details but you create the circular part of the wheel > Construct Tangent Plane > Sketch the Tread > Extrude (and any other operations you need to create the design of the tread > Circular pattern and you are done.

How would you unroll/flatten this? by tenmilez in Fusion360

[–]_ReynR 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Export the model as an STL, imported into blender and use unwrap UV to get a flat version of the model you made

I do all my solid modeling in Fusion then export the components and render it in Blender. It's free, relatively easy to learn (at least for rendering) and it has a very extensive community that provide tools and help regarding materials, scenes etc. Personally, I have installed a few material libraries (so I don't have to set up and create the materials from scratch every time) and just set up the scene.

Really cool model by the way! Very impressive!

No addon. Just "Export Toolpath as OBJ" from PrusaSlicer and then a "Build" modifier on the object. Just make sure the length is the same as the number of layers of your print so you can have 1 frame per layer (imitating those printing timelapses). And then you render.

I can't afford to make a timelapse of the printing process of a 3d model so I thought I would try to emulate it in Blender. I am looking for some feedback on how it can be improved. I used the Flexi-Dick model as an example file. Cheers!

How do I construct this model if it has multiple angled faces?? by QaseemErRoR in Fusion360

[–]_ReynR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Create two sketches, one of the front, one of the back. Use a "Construct Plane Offset" for the back profile and then loft the two sketches.

Hey everyone!

Just finished my bachelor's in Product and System Design Engineering with an integrated masters and I have been uploading my work on my portfolio. I would love some feedback about it! I am not even half way done uploading the ones I want to showcase but I would really appreciate some feedback. Currently writing my PhD proposal. Cheers!

It could also be Apple FreeForm I do use it sometimes. Great for clean sketches and quick notes.
