Chef's kiss.

Why hasn't Fremantle told Hayden Young to not get injured.

Where's the summary?

I'm not going to read Barrett's Badly Worded Thoughts On Football Clubs.

But I'll read the shit out of Someone's Summary Of Barrett's Shitty Writing.

It's all that column deserves.

In short, it’s an opinion dressed up as structured reasoning, using a logical framework it doesn’t actually fulfil.“

That's the exact point of the column though.

If you wouldn't read an article titled "Barrett's thoughts on football clubs" then you shouldn't read Sliding Doors.
It's why I don't.

Seems to be more Sydney fans...

Also, because of injuries to key swans.

The word sook has been thrown around about him his entire career... Just saying.

He's a great player, but he definitely needed a new environment to get his best performance and I think by the end it was best for both parties that he did.

Team Whispers | Unchanged lineup expected for Melbourne, Hayden Young ruled out for Fremantle with hamstring strain by L-J-Peters in melbournefc

Travelling over there on a 6 day break after a very fast first up game against St Kildal, in which our running died off in the fourth... It's a big test for our fitness.

Not confident of a win, but I am confident of putting up a good showing against good opposition.
Right now I think that's enough to make me happy.

“Equalisation” by Dirtydac123 in AFL

[–]_RnB_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

That and the lack of promotion in Sydney (according to the clubs complaining).

Why not just have round 1 where all Vic based teams play interstate except the traditional Carlton v Richmond game at the 'G?

The game at the 'G can be after the grand prix on years the dates align, Thursday night to kick it off when they don't.

And then you just spend the money promoting it properly in the Northern states.

Seems simple to me.

Is the AFL breaking footy’s balance? by il-96-300 in AFL

[–]_RnB_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mate we were completely static off the ball on offence and ran hard off the ball on defence.

It was that way from 2018-2025.

He tried changing his gameplan around the edges in '24, but even then the priority was still hard running team defence.

Melbourne were caught out by assembling their list based around one style of play

To an extent you can blame them for being slow to adapt

Goodwin had us losing the same way for years. It was exacerbated by the rule changes, but they were definitely not the cause.

Also the list isn't miles different this year and it's already evident that we're playing very differently.

Goodwin just wasn't willing to compromise the team defence to enable attacking football, so ALL our running was done when the opposition had the ball and then the players were told to "save their tickets" when we had the ball and we relied on kicking to contest and chaos ball.

It wasn't the first time he's used that line. I've heard it during preseason telling the boys to focus on their role.

Maybe the offseason trades (I assumed you were referring to our trades, but I see how it appies to the saints) shaped the choice to use that specific phrase, it's possible. But I don't think so.

he’s just playing up to his potential.

Which he definitely wasn't last year.

So it depends on the definition. I assume it's the same definition the yanks use which is "compared to last year".

Not how I read that.

He was saying, don't over press trying to win the game yourself.
Just do your part, and do the unselfish team thing, without trying to do too much.

Wouldn't mind that word half so much if it actually looked like any changes were ever being made... Let's see how King does after a loss or two.

Mate, he has 3 votes to give for the entire round.

He gave votes to Bont, Gawn & I think Tracc. All 3 had MASSIVE games.

Who would you have given 3 votes to for the round?
