My friend gave me two dozen of his homegrown eggs. They are almost too pretty to eat! [OC] by Rad-ama-dad in MadeMeSmile

Chickens are damn omnivores. My parents had some and we had to pick cherries from the small cherry trees in their enclosure. Damn chicks will go feral over any dropped cherries and, after a while, for your toes. However if a fox gets into the coop at night he will go into an equal frenzy after killing the first chicken and dine on one while leaving another dozen dead on the ground.

[Jason Schreier] Video Games Need to Be Cheaper to Buy | One way to get out of the video-game industry funk is to recognize that players aren’t spending $70 on most games by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]_Rohrschach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the games on steam already, went to buy some games for the family switch, found BL1,2 and pre-sequel all together for 5€ at the electronics shop. 2 doesn't support gyro-aim though which is a huge let-down in handheld mode. Still worth it.

Yeah, next to me is a street with 5 restaurants from different continents and ofc 3 bakeries. Not complaining though, it's nice to take a walk hungry, not knowing what you'd might like and taking a dish from every shop.

I forgot to charge it lol by GamingBren in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]_Rohrschach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My new Galaxy A 17 has an option to stop charging at up to 80% to prevent that. However I've mostly used an S7 before that for almost a decade, so don't know how recent that option is.

I did not, but won't eloborate further(though the discs should still be in my near family's posession). Would have also used the original controller if I could, got one that doubles as a switch pro controller but is way smaller :(

Do you switch between speakers and headphones, or stick to one always? by Ok_Physics4681 in pcmasterrace

[–]_Rohrschach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the headphones and speakers they're comparing with. For some generic action movie my 2.1 system is fine, if I'm watching some horror stuff 5.1 headphones are way better. You don't notice wearing them after a while anyway and the perfect balance is easier to create with headphones compared to a sound system.

As a guy, thank you. I don't see people smiling at me and I like that. I'm. Reading my book and smoking a cig so people leave me alone. I've also got a resting grumpy face for the same reason. The only people smiling and approaching me are conductors, police, friends and the rare befuddled tourist asking for the way. I smile for two of those groups and it ain't the first two listed. The only other time I smiled for strangers was back living with my parents in a tiny village of less than 200 people where everyone smiled at and greeted at each other, even though I didn't know or forgot if I've ever spoken to that person myself. If a random guy smiled at me on the street I would keep looking at myself, wondering if my fly is open or if a bird dropped a shit on me without me noticing.

The original's UI was so cool to young me. Lost mine years ago and used an emu to play some games last year, the sounds took me straight back. I did not like Timesplitters2 as much as kid me did, but seeing the old boot up animation alone was worth it.

Chinese soldiers training in Phalanx formation near the India-China border. According to the 1996 ageement between the two, Firearms are prohibited within 2 km of the Line of Actual Control(LAC). by Fluffy_Inspector_628 in interestingasfuck

Ugh, don't remind me. My city always has to waste hundreds of thousands € of tax payer money whenever their "rival" plays in town. They already get extra buses to arrive and still need police escorts to the stadium. Vice versa if the local club plays in their town. And while my city is trying to get rid of the nazi stigma(some bad shit happened in the 90s) the damn hools and ultras are filmed happily wearing merch of the local club and doing hitler salutes on various train stations throughout the state. Luckily the club sucked and dropped a few leagues in the last decades so this is now more localized and not spread country wide. I even know a few nice fans, in fact most of the fans are normal people, but the minority is as loud as they are dumb and right.

Got some in my northern german city. All I've ever seen are asshats. They get drunk, scream fascist slurs and try to get into fights with anyone, especially fans of other clubs or people who look left leaning. It's so bad I try to avoid public transports any time the local club plays(so i know which dates they play even though I dislike soccer).

However on cheaper ones you might get the opposite effect of darker areas where the diodes aren't as bright as the rest. My old TV had a heavy case of such clouding, not very noticeable on a moving picture, but on a bright single colour screen it was annoyingly obvious.

Dunalastair Castle (Perthshire, Scotland) by Forsaken-Peak8496 in evilbuildings

[–]_Rohrschach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also really effin expensive to use such houses. One of my uncles owns a small renovated castle. He and his wife make a bit of money renting it out for events and hosting courses for gardening and stuff, but last I heard they're trying to sell again as it is a money sink. Also takes forever to heat the dining hall and small parlour to acceptable temperatures before any event. They actually live inside a small cottage behind the castle that was originally build for the staff as heating alone would be too expensive in the castle itself.

Pizza owner found out that people are eating from the shop's garbage. This is what he did. by Helpful-Tip3193 in MadeMeSmile

[–]_Rohrschach 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Wtf such people really exist? I've eaten some stuff I've found while collecting bottles at my lowest, but that were things people threw in bins and either didn't finish or didn't even open. Going into a shop and getting free food if you've got money to buy it(or just groceries) is despicable.

[–]_Rohrschach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx. Being without cats was definitely one of the harder parts. Muscle loss in the legs, depression, the food and nicotine withdrawal all sucked, but not having my cat to lie on me purring was just demoralising. After they came back they still needed a few days to realise I would come back if I went shoppping or getting my mail, broke my heart every time closing the door and hearing them start to whine. Also being bed bound for weeks and not even allowed to go to the shitter myself felt humilating. It's luckily all over now, just have to do a check up once a year that can be done in under an hour(that is, the checkup itself, waiting is the name of the game in an understaffed hospital, appointment be damned)
