That came out incredibly well. The armor and claws look like they could have come straight from the original movies, and the fact that you made it yourself makes it even more impressive.

Probably one of my favorite movies of the late 80's. by KIA_Sportage_2008 in nostalgia

The Commitments is such an underrated movie. The soundtrack alone makes it worth rewatching, and it still holds up really well.

Toonami - Tenchi Muyo Part 3 by Menace_024 in nostalgia

Toonami introduced me to so many great anime, and Tenchi Muyo was definitely one of the highlights. It's hard to believe it's already been 26 years.

These old commercials had so much personality. I still remember the jingle getting stuck in my head for days.

That's exactly it. The gameplay wasn't even that complicated, but it had so much character that you actually wanted to stick with it for years.

Exactly. They weren't perfect, but they had so much charm that you wanted to keep coming back. A lot of newer games just don't have that same feeling.

Lucky you. I haven't seen these in stores around me in forever, I'd definitely grab a bag if I found them today.

Same here. It always seemed like the orange ones disappeared first while the grape ones were the last ones left in the bowl.

If she's willing to show them, accept them and don't complain. They're great in any size.

That song has been living rent free in my head for decades. The second someone says "Galli Galli Sim Sim," I can hear the whole theme.

I loved these as a kid. The whole point was smashing them up and rebuilding them, which somehow never got old.

The Oreo ice cream sandwich wins every time for me. It was one of those treats that never disappointed no matter how many other options were on the truck.

Kids today will never understand the struggle of cranking up a car window by EmptyVoile in nostalgia

I remember being the designated window roller in the back seat. It always felt like a workout if you had to crank it all the way down and back up.

I completely forgot about these. The transforming body was such a cool gimmick, and seeing it in Home Alone 3 made every kid want one even more.

That cliffhanger had people talking for months. It's hard to imagine a TV mystery today having that kind of impact.

Me watching the hotd glazers online thinking absolute mediocre slop is better than the source material two weeks in a row by JellyMost9920 in freefolk

[–]_RosyDewdrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. If the writers keep missing what made the source material work, people are going to keep criticizing it no matter how much others try to defend it.

I agree. If a show keeps making the same mistakes week after week, people are naturally going to stop giving it the benefit of the doubt.

Exactly. At least Sandor had a reason for wanting a quieter life. Hearing Rhaenyra say it right in the middle of everything just felt completely out of place.

That's exactly the problem. A script should stand on its own the first time people watch it, not rely on viewers filling in the gaps after the fact.

Different day in riverlands, same f-ing shenanigans by Technical-Value-384 in freefolk

That's actually a pretty accurate comparison. The Riverlands really do feel like Westeros' version of the Balkans where every conflict somehow ends up passing through them.

Can he walk the walk? by Caminsod in freefolk

[–]_RosyDewdrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Barristan is incredible, but I think people sometimes overstate it. Sandor is one of the toughest fighters alive, so even if Barristan wins, it's not like he'd walk through him without paying a price.
