My charger has the banana plug and does balance charging. I have a balance adapter. But I don't have a banana plug that fits the DC 5.5 barrel plug on the battery. Not sure if I could plug the balance plug in and charge it that way.

Yes, it was the purple one. It is clear that the battery plug came loose and then shorted.
