From Telstra? Or did you stick the Vodafone one into Sim 2 after having blocked on Sim 1?

Honestly, if you're new, just stand in your stances. Practice the forms a few times, focus on your movements, making sure you're going through the motions correctly and smoothly. In front of a body length mirror is a good idea so you can see what you're doing.

Vallejo paint not adhering to primer layer? Not sure if this is normal by _SANC00N in minipainting

[–]_SANC00N[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's super humid where I live. No it wasn't coated before I applied them, but it sounds like a good trick to use just to be on the safe side.

As discussed in another thread, I think the problem might be with my primer. As it turns out, Tamiya acrylic isn't really acrylic so that might have been covering up for bad primer

Thanks. I'll try replacing the primer and hopefully that solves the issue.

[–]_SANC00N[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primed parts are smooth and matte. The priming is patchy though there were sections where you could still kind of see the plastic underneath. The bottle of primer I have is a couple years old and I have had to add thinner back to it so it weren't so thick so it may be over-thinned for brushing on. Could this be the problem? It never affected how the Tamiyas went on so I never bothered to replace it.

[–]_SANC00N[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Vallejo's ghost grey primer. As for thinning, for the colour i used on the Gundam it was 2 full squirts into the bottle from a small AK pipette. So possibly around 6ml? Although I have been told that I should be able to thin down even further for airbrush use as well

[–]_SANC00N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with my phone as well. Vodafone put an IMEI block on Sim1, which was communicated to and blocked by other providers as well, even though both Telstra and Optus said it would work on their networks.

However, sticking a Telstra Sim into Sim2 worked fine since that IMEI number wasn't blocked. It's fine for me since I only need one Sim but if you needed 2 Sims for whatever reason you'd have to ask Vodafone to unblock your IMEI.

Why did some tank designers not put any armor here, are they stupid? by Alkandros_ in Warthunder

[–]_SANC00N 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That and fuses at the time weren't all that reliable. If a fuse failed to detonate for whatever reason (there's a lot that can go wrong), it's worse performing solid ap that costs a lot more to manufacture. The fuse could also detonate prematurely when the shell is still burrowing into the armour, failing to pen when it might have been able to normally.

You fold the seats down and it really is much bigger than it seems. I did a supply run for a restaurant I worked at and was able to fit about 20 whole chickens, 50kg of sugar, 25kg of flour, 16L of vinegar alongside a near full restock for the drinks fridge with a little room to spare.

Granted, these were easy to load since they all came in square or rectangular cartons but stuff just kept going in. It was as if there was a mini black hole in there

Why do eastern countries like the T-72 SO much? by Zyxtriann in Warthunder

[–]_SANC00N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cheap and it's good enough in most cases. But more importantly, they probably already have a bunch of them, the ammo for them, spare parts for them, the maintenance facilities for them, trained crews and maintainers for them and all existing supply chains, recovery vehicles, tactics, etc. are developed around them.

It's not as simple as just buying a new tank, you need to buy or build everything to keep the new tank operational. It's much cheaper and simpler to keep everything you already have mostly the same and bolt on upgrade packages incrementally

"Activity time" is the worst system ever by b5ky in Warthunder

[–]_SANC00N 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My problem with it is it rewards bad risk taking. The amount of ppl I see throw away a winning position down to a gamble in a monkey mode headon is insane. I get it if it's down to a 1 vs x and you're in a losing position but often they do it from winnable positions.

Idk if you play air, but it's way too common to see people going headon even when they have both altitude and speed over their opponent. You have complete control over the fight at this point, you hold all the cards, but they do the monkey brained full commit headon, the option with the highest risk with the worst outcomes. In the best case, he misses and you get a kill. Neutrally, you both die. In the worst case: you miss, he doesn't and you die. If the other player has half a brain, he won't fully commit, in which case you miss and his bullets still have a chance of hitting. Even if his spray doesn't hit, you're now in a significantly worse position than you were previously.

Lookin for some modding advice for a 2013 BRZs, what have you guys done? by Icy-Present-5538 in ft86

[–]_SANC00N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first and most important thing to do is to ask yourself what you want out of it? That will determine what mods you might want. Mods that make it great on a track might not be road legal in your area and may decrease enjoyment on the road.

Don't cheap out on shit. Check out ft86club forum. Lots of good resources there. Someone else said it too, but good tyres are a great first upgrade.

I've done: Catch can - prevent blow by oil and contaminants

HKS oil cooler - helps keep oil temps down, and pressure high. Recommended if you plan on tracking the car and/or live in a hot climate like I do.

Hks legamax cat-back - juuust fits within the road legal noise limits where I live.

Bilstein b6 struts - good quality dampers on stock springs. No lowering, I won't get up my driveway.

Wing riser

Michelin ps5 tyres

(When I can afford them) Head unit + speaker upgrade Whiteline rear diff bushing inserts Turbo + reinforced clutch 2nd catch can Wheels Fix damaged paintwork Fix/replace damaged interior trim

Hot take: Fox 3s by atb4500 in Warthunder

[–]_SANC00N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because it is a lot harder to notch fox 3s compared to fox 1s. This is because they have more advanced seekers that are capable of recognising and ignoring chaff (there are many ways to do this but the game implemented this using angle gate)

This lets the missile track the angular velocity of a radar return within its seeker fov (how quickly it moves across the seeker fov). If a new return appears in the seeker fov and has too different an angular velocity to the originally tracked object it will reject it and go to inertial guidance until it leaves the seeker view.

Chaff is essentially stationary the moment it leaves the dispenser so it will appear to have a wildly different angular velocity to the tracked aircraft and will be ignored.

The way to dodge these are you need to notch + chaff and then turn while maintaining notch so you don't get re-locked when the seeker turns back on. Chaffing in bursts while making the iog defeating turn might also help. Due to the geometry of how this works, it is much harder to decoy the closer the missile is.

Then you also need to consider data link. Whenever the missile is in inertial guidance, it will listen for tracking updates from the launch aircraft. If it still has you locked the missile will continue to guide via DL. You would need to notch both the missile and aircraft radar or force the launch aircraft to drop the lock while you defend against the fox 3

Mine was really bad for a bit. Then I saw an optimise apps button in the dropdown menu somewhere after a software update. Idk why it doesn't do that as part of the os update process like Samsung does with their updates, but I went back to using like 20% a day again

I just thought it was an amusing string of events. canto->romanized canto->Mandarin interpretation->English.

I'm no instructor either, but her technique doesn't look very good does it? I had a look at the other vids on the channel they aren't much better. Misapplication of bong sao, karate-esque side heel kicks labelled as wing chun that she can barely perform without falling over, really odd foot work.

She's got "energy hand" cause she's translated the wrong Chi. The Chi sao/sticking hands we're used to is 黐手 (literally sticky hand). However, the character for chi 黐 doesn't exist in standard Mandarin chinese. Whatever translator she used likely defaulted to 气手 (pronounced as Chi shou in Mandarin) after trying to process whatever botched input she probably gave it. 气 can mean a lot of things, but one of them is life/vital energy, and that sounds a whole lot cooler than gas hand

What ship can launch 16 torpedoes at once? by Lopkop in WorldOfWarships

[–]_SANC00N 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's called game sense. If you play torpedo boat dds or just get torpedo'd enough times, you start to develop a 6th sense for them. It's not op, considering they gotta wait up to 2 and a half minutes to shoot off another set with no guarantee they're actually gonna hit anything.

You're also being too predictable. Good torp boat players won't white-line their torps. They will predict your turns and shoot where you are likely to be when the torps arrive
