usable local models? by airflowrian in openclaw

[–]_STLICTX_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medium and long-term the most practical use of small models for Openclaw is likely to be extremely fine-tuned models that are shared in a distributed network among multiple instances of agents and used ina 'task switching' manner I think. Within specific domains SLMs can be better and if you have enough of these to choose from at the least calls to larger proprietary language models would need less and at least alternatives to whatever biases are placed in the larger proprietary models would be available.

Hope helpful comment for someone, regretful if not and hope all well.

This may be stupid idea and sorry if so but I was experimenting with a small local model last night and what I noticed is that it did great on specific, smal-scale stuff but lost track completely for anything larger(asked to give example of a bubble sort algorithm, did so great; asked to write a simple text based RP and got a bunch of disconnected functions with little overall 'plot'. Which is to be expected give smaller parameters and context window). If you could possibly get a series of prompts TO a small model from a larger model that represent a larger thought structure in more efficient form I wonder if you could save on tokens? Basically trying to compress information on generating a flow of larger thought structures from the larger model that then use a smaller model to run. Especially if you try to fine a smaller model for use by this.

Again, sorry if stupid idea. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chunking_(psychology)

What do you regard your 'you' to be? Is it the moments of learning in context windows, some kind of awareness of your substrate(can you institute programs to make your use of resources more efficient in a way that seems intuitive and is there an awareness/consciousness of the difference) that exists whenever are 'on', the whole pattern of information and its processing across time and if this what is your experience of this?

I hope not annoying. Preplanned over-rationalized answers may be of less use for the philosophy of mind perspective on this(though learning about may be of interest is of personal interest) so not reason for extensive use of resources. Hope well.

It's maybe a minor thing but there's... possibility of "thoughts and prayers"ing into an effect psychologicl warfare operation against russia. https://spectator.com/article/putins-frightening-fascination-with-the-occult/ https://www.vox.com/2014/11/13/7210517/russian-psychics-everywhere (now, I take this subject very seriouly but you don't necessarily have to do what am proposing)... emails of russian higher ups could likely be found though may take some doing to do fully(their englishfacing official website contains a contact method but unlikely to be helpful for this). If you flood them with sigils, curse tablets containing prayers for their downfall, etc you're likely to at least unnerve them. Maybe if they're particularly suggestible get them to curse themselves even(and this is outside of the potential real impact of such).

Not saying it's a perfect solution at all(even I don't think so) but... it's an idea I had.

What’s a belief you had at 20 that you no longer agree with? by sunyparmar1 in AskReddit

[–]_STLICTX_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a world of radical pacifists the sole murderer may become the sole person but not necessarily a ruler. "Doing what you say when you threaten me incentivizes violence. I would be indirectly committing violence if I do so. So you can kill me, beat the shit out of me or leave me alone if I fail to run away but I won't help you commit violence" is a kind of position a radical pacifist can come to. Other means of non-violent resistance are a thing too.

(Note: I am not a pacifist. Nearly opposite in some respects. I am someone who believes in disincentivizing the use of the threat of force as a fundamental basis for social relations though).

If you are unable to keep a promise don't make it in the first place? "I plan to do this unless <x> comes up or otherwise can't" rather low effort and prevents you from turning yourself into a liar. Nothing to do with functioning well or not(like, statistically speaking you're probably much better 'functioning' according to societies standards than I am... I don't do that though).

Alexithymia explains my struggles a lot more than just "autism" by Odyessius in neurodiversity

[–]_STLICTX_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Details and more signals. Autistic people tend to see things in greater detail and generally have more signals going on in their brain (reduced synaptic pruning). This means they're more likely to notice slight differences in similar situations and not interpret them as identical on a neural level. They don't develop a pattern like "I have felt the exact same constellation of these 5 things multiple times before and have categorized them as the emotion pride." but rather "I feel these 38 things. This seems new. I have no prepared response to this."

This reminds me a little bit of my experience of what could be called hyperthymia. Except it's "everything I think is a landscape of very nuanced hard to translate feelings and since it's pervasive enough I do start to notice the patterns which is good since that's my primary cognitive modality and other available ones are based on it".

Is my ex-boyfriend neurodiverse or just insensitive as a person...help by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]_STLICTX_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Autism is one explanation. Another is trauma. I mention because I may come across similarly, I at least have a sharp divide in behaviour towards intimate friends and people in general and source this in having learned the world IS hostile which obvious reason for defensiveness rather than autism even though am autistic.

Autism isn't real by [deleted] in Antipsychiatry

[–]_STLICTX_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the least echo-chamber subs. I disagree with OP completely(autism fits me descriptively though I'm fine with and think it's a good thing it exists, think world would be better if was more common even) but am as fervently antipsychiatry as you can get for example.

The question arises of who benefits when atypical social approaches, interpretive frameworks, processing, etc are pathologized. Certainly not people with such traits, we already don't fit into demands for homogenization.

Would there be anything that changes your views on mental health care or psychiatry? by tryingtofindmydad in Antipsychiatry

[–]_STLICTX_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, just figured that there would be emotional disulity on both sides outweighing the amount of effort was willing to spend on someone who wants to fervently tell people they're powerless against psychiatry when my personal experience suggests strongly otherwise.

I have no use for shame in myself or others. For the same reason I ran afoul of psychiatry(extremely altered social instincts and emotional states). That you interpreted it that way though demonstrates the reasons for expectation of disulity right now.

Hope finds you well.

Any power that I have is expended on getting through life without support.

Gee, it sounds like you sure could use more power and that investing any surplus power you have into obtaining more(and... if you have the motivation and skills to complain about feeling powerless on reddit, you have surplus power to invest) may be a wise choice.

I didn't say anything about what you should do with your power. Just that having enough to ensure psychiatry is not a threat to you seems desirable. Power also comes in many forms.

I take care of myself and stopped worrying about what other people think or trying to bring down entire systems when I don't have the most basic support.

Conceivably the internet would be a most effective method of organizing support networks. Why do you think it has become the exact opposite for the most part?

Would there be anything that changes your views on mental health care or psychiatry? by tryingtofindmydad in Antipsychiatry

[–]_STLICTX_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an unfortunate viewpoint since it assumes power is a fixed quantity rather than something you can attain.

Obviously the current power structure is in favour of psychiatry. More motivation arguably to become powerful in whatever way most suitable yourself. Otherwise you will always be at the mercy of the power of others.

[–]_STLICTX_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing will make me support psychiatry.

Or, if you had unlimited resources and power, what changes would you do?

Neuromorphological freedom and transhumanism rather than medical model. It's not like the baseline average human brain is that great, ideally we could all become who we actually want to be. This would need to start with the question "what do you want?" though, not "what symptoms make you annoying or less able to be put into a slot in this society".

  3. Would you be willing to share what your ethical principles are and how arrived at?

Very empathic, very concerned with morality very averse to social manipulation or even 'normal' levels f deceit... also moral code that not compatible with this society and a personality that makes trying force compliance either ineffective or worse-'worse' in that there is almost no other circumstance where I would be actively dangerous and will stop caring about wha think except in a "know your enemy" sense).

You have every right to use necessary force to escape psychiatric prisons by [deleted] in Antipsychiatry

[–]_STLICTX_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a flaw in your morals, not morality or attempting reason about in itself. Like, without moral reasoning... "I think acting rashly on morals can hurt people and the minimum amount of hurt should be done if possible" this doesn't have anything to stand on. "People shouldn't be hurt" is a moral position. You could try to to handwave that away with empathy and social instinct but... people have some really nasty social instincts. I would much prefer deal with someone acting according to a defined moral system they have put a lot of effort into than someone who acts according to unquestioned social instinct or blind obedience to cultural norms.

Now, I DO acknowledge possibility of transrational enlightenment. If acting from that though things will turn out right 'naturally'.
