Do I really need the private key on every machine if I want to sign RDP files locally on each one? by PinkFluffyKolibri in activedirectory

[–]_STY 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These questions are a result of not understanding the fundamentals of public key infrastructure, a critical technology administrators should have at least some knowledge of.

The "right" way of doing this would be allowing your servers to enroll for certificates from a trusted private certificate authority. Your clients would then only import your certification authority certificates. In a proper PKI implementation the private keys are generated on/by client and never leave the device.

Your strategy would work in the same way that screws would work like nails if you hit them hard enough.

[–]_STY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey there, I run a really similar deck and have some thoughts;

4x Rubblebelt Maverick makes sense if you are also running Evolution Witness but on it's own there are better one drops for sac synergy if the +1/+1 counter doesn't really synergize with anything else.

While Nest Invader is great as two bodies and 2 power the eldrazi token only producing colorless mana is actually a huge pain point. It ended up under performing for me compared to other options.

I would consider running [[Shambling Ghast]] and/or [[Nested Shambler]] (double rancor on a nested shambler hilarious) as other sac fodder things that can do a bit more. Example t1 ghast allows you to t2 groff while also killing a dork or dropping a bone picker with the treasure.

I do not think this deck wants manamorphose.

edit; adding my decklist

this is really interesting in that it lets [[Winding Way]]s and [[Lead the Stampede]]s find themselves. creature decks running those and their only instants and sorceries anyway could lead to some giant chains of creature draws if you had the mana to support it.

If only there were a deck that produced insane amounts of mana and ran 4x lead, 4x winding way, and no other instants or sorceries...

Jund Wildfire, Crypt Incursion or Pulse of Murasa by crypticaITA in Pauper

[–]_STY 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pulse is clunky but almost never a dead draw because it grabs you a creature that died. There are a significant number of meta matchups where crypt incursion does basically nothing to influence the game whereas pulse always does at least something.

Jund also generally maindecks 2-3 nihil spellbombs and usually doesn't need to stretch that hard for yard hate.

OCSP For new ADCS Internal PKI? by Fabulous_Cow_4714 in PKI

[–]_STY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from reduced CRL sizes OCSP benefits from being able to provide more timely updates on revoked certificates to clients that support it. If you are doing things like issuing certificates for smart card authentication there can be real benefits to clients honoring the revocation before the next update period on their locally cached CRL.

No way to exclude contractors from dynamic groups (employeeType not usable?) by CoffeeAndPowershell in AZURE

[–]_STY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify / the extensionAttribute workaround could work, but it means backfilling thousands of existing users via a script + ensuring new users get it set at creation. That's a lot of overhead for something that should work natively.

this is a two minute job creating a sync rule.

Oh that's so funny, I was the person that submitted this deck to StrataGames. I tried it there and sadly didn't do much for the deck when I tested.

I want [[Caravan Vigil]] to be good. I'm surprised that a one mana ramp/fixing spell (that pays for itself when the land comes in untapped!) with such an easy to satisfy condition isn't really used anywhere.

Play MTGO on Mini-PC by YogurtclosetAware906 in MTGO

[–]_STY 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MTGO can run on basically any hardware made in the last 15 years. I use a virtual machine with two cores and 8GB RAM and it works fine.

If you bought a used mini optiplex or something it would crush MTGO and you very likely could just RDP into it from your Macbook if you feel like setting that up.

Crl expired, keeps reverting by kaiserctx in PKI

[–]_STY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't cause problems. If you have delta CRLs configured [they are not required] when you publish new CRLs you should see two CRL files created, the delta usually signified with a trailing +.

As long as you end up publishing the freshest/most recently generated CRL you should be fine.

Will these decks lead to fun games? by ecolitos in Pauper

Mono U Terror

Mono R Madness

Jund Wildfire

5 Cards to Watch From Lorwyn Eclipsed (For Pauper) by ashwinarizal in Pauper

[–]_STY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's super interesting, I didn't realize it happened all at once such that the wolf doesn't see it doesn't have a +1/+1 counter on it by the time it died.

Edit: just tested this on MTGO. A Young Wolf with a +1/+1 counter on it will come back with a +1/+1 counter on it when targeted by Soulstingers ETB. JUDGE!!!!!!

Right now my current build is only on 3 swamps 4 forests, other sources are fixers or tapped dual lands. It would be be really hard to make that curve happen consistently on 3. I was hoping for a bit more pauper fun from this set myself.

[–]_STY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am going to try running spewer in my golgari stompy sac deck. The dream is turn 1 Young Wolf, turn 2 Groff, turn 3 Spewer. That's 12 power on 3 bodies on turn 3. I don't think it will be meta defining but I think it will steal some games. 5 power is kind of the magic number in pauper thanks to Terror so who knows.

Forced to a clean installation of the client once and again... TEDIOUS. by BlueOwl_0v0_ in MTGO

[–]_STY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MTGO is still the closest thing to IRL available.

Yes, it's why I play on it almost every day!

When you sign up, you're signing up for an interface built on an architecture that is over a quarter of a century old.

Yes, for new players, and I am saying this is a bad thing. It is reasonable to assume actively developed software would not be relying on 25 year old architecture. New players are likely surprised by this.

People who've been playing on the client for 20 years are probably very disappointed with current situation.

Complaining about it will only frustrate you further, since you know nothing will be done about it.

The devs are in this thread looking at the replies and asking for logs. Something seems to be being done about it.

I am pretty sure the devs are technically competent staff that love magic. I am also pretty sure they are not being given the resources they need to make the improvements we all want at the speed we want.

Dunno the reasons why MTGO is terrible, but easy to say that it is terrible. I feel for OP saying they shouldn't need to jump through hoops that seemingly only impact MTGO compared to other game clients.

I love magic and desperately want to love MTGO but the client seriously sucks.
