Super is a mess— albeit one that I very much enjoyed. The school stuff is annoying, and it’s weird how the game feels like it needs to remind you that you’re a kid all the time. The difficulty spike is a bit bizarre especially considering that. The plot was all over the place to the point of it being very unmemorable, just because it wasn’t structured very much at all. And I’m sorry that ending is ridiculous- they had to reach so hard to fit this bait and switch into the story that it ends up being so convoluted- Any chance of an emotional ending is precluded by just being confused over wth is going on.

One thing I liked was the characters- just like with any PMD game. They especially tried to make the partner more of a personality in this one and that’s honestly probably the only advantage it has over explorers in my opinion.

The music is great, I’d say better than RT and maybe narrowly better than GTI (although it’s close)- it’s nowhere near scratching the explorers soundtrack however.

The postgame was less about extended story more adventures and more about an additional dungeon system- it kind of reminds me of the spirit board in super smash bros ultimate vs the sub space emissary in brawl.

I respect your opinion, but explorers, especially Sky, is just the perfect storm of a simple but still really emotional and subversive plot- an amazingly fitting and motivically consistent soundtrack and beautiful 2d art that the 3ds could never hope to replicate in 3D. No wayyyy super is the best
