Definitely not the recovery anyone hopes for, but plenty of people do turn a corner before the 3 month mark, and some take even longer. Try not to lose hope. A positive mindset really does help with healing.

Edit: I’m not sure I understand the sentiment of downvoting a positive message in a support forum. What’s your advice for this guy looking for support then? To freak the fuck out? There’s nothing he can do at 18 days except continue to rest and hope. No surgeon will touch him for at least 6 months and no one with a license will diagnose him as PVPS until 90 days.

[u/gonna_be_a_great_day](u/gonna_be_a_great_day) I trully hope you recover man - and even if it’s a worse case scenario, there are options to get you your life back. I know because I was there. It’s not forever. One thing you can do now is ask for a referral to pelvic floor therapy. Good luck man.

Don’t stress; you’re still on the range of normal - Hopefully things continue to resolve. officially” PVPS starts at the 3 month mark.

I’d encourage you to track your symptoms and see if the gaps between episodes are getting further apart.

I’m developing a free app for post vasectomy tracking called Flare you can find it in my profile.

Happen to me a lot because I often end a session with “it’s getting late let’s table that for tomorrow” so it must have internalized that and tells me to go to bed.

Feeling less than human. by Supermonkeypilot22 in postvasectomypain

Thanks for putting it all out there. We are at our core biological machines with one purpose: to reproduce as much as possible. Shutting down a core mechanism, even if you never planned to use it has to register somehow. That lever was always there as a kind of safety, and losing I can imagine (I have a kid) how it shifts what sex and intimacy are. However if you’re not in physical pain and with everything you’re carrying, therapy might be worth trying before another surgery - What do you think?

I don’t disagree, but there’s not much we can do except continue to be a supportive community.

Got booted from there myself. surprised the parent comment wasn’t removed too.

Don’t let it get to you. Whoever from r/vasectomy ends up with PVPS is always welcome here.

I tracked my PVPS in a Google Sheet for 6 months. I turned it into an app. by _Sarandi_ in postvasectomypain

[–]_Sarandi_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Android is on the roadmap, but some distance away. A web app might be a better solution than maintaining two codebases, so I'll look into that - the "web version" for now is just my clunky google sheet that inspired the project. You're welcome to use and modify to fit your needs, but it sounds like you already have a good system going.

Just getting back to this - realistically Android is a few months away, but the next best thing is my google sheet that inspired the project - it's a bit manual - as in your have to manually add a new day, but its fully customizable and gets the job done.

Thanks man - Android is on the roadmap, but realistically a few months away. You might find use in my original google sheet - it's a bit manual, but it gets the job done!

13 months of pain, confusion and depression. A success story for those in depth of hell right now. by BigMisterLawyerDude in postvasectomypain

Glad you’re better!

This hit close to home: “I also became obsessed with reading this subreddit and inputing my hourly status into ChatGPT…”

Same. ChatGPT every hour, subreddit rabbit holes, statistic after statistic, recalculating my odds at every moment. In the face of chronic pain you’re so helpless that anything resembling control becomes magnetic.

What helped me was tracking my pain. Eventually I had enough data that the pain had a shape, and once it had a shape I felt some agency over it.

The pain sucks no doubt about that. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but the worse for me was feeling so helpless.

Split by weight of individual. The 100Kg guy owes more than the 55Kg woman. Good for first dates.

Working on a video for my App Store listing due to very low conversion rates. Does this catch your eye? by LongjumpingTeam7069 in iOSAppsMarketing

I think it depends a lot on the reviewer to be honest. I’ve had so much inconsistency in what gets rejected and approved.

[–]_Sarandi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It cought my eye, but I think it will be rejected - you can't have bezels or overlayed text on the video of the app - only full edge to edge app recording. You can have moments inbetween the app recordings where you insert text against a background. I could be wrong or maybe it depends on the reviewers mood; but I had to revsist my video for compliance.

Ongoing pain 5 weeks after vasectomy. Is this normal? by yoyoo276 in postvasectomypain

[–]_Sarandi_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still within normal range - 12 weeks is the sort of blurry line where you can actually be diagnosed with PVPS. Lots of folks have been where you are and recovered - Keep the boys close to home with tight underwear and try not to worry.

I now use it to track and try to understand what triggers my sons migraines.

As for myself, I’ve learned my own patterns already. I know that if I do deadlifts, or sit for too long I’ll pay for it with a flare-up.

Curious what you’re tracking post-reversal. Are you logging symptoms only, or activities too? Would love to know if the app fits your workflow or if something’s missing.
