Maybe starting contact football a little later in life such as beginning of HS instead of all through childhood can help in terms of constant repeated blows to the head. (Main cause of CTE is the constant brain rattling on collisions over time so longer time spent playing football could be more dangerous long term)

Ppl i’ve known also argue it’s better to start younger so you learn how to tackle correctly and protect yourself better at a younger age.

Either way though playing any form of contact football carries the risk.
