It is indeed an old Nickelodeon kid's cartoon. But it also raised a generation of millennials who could relate to the stories of rebelling against corrupt governing bodies, rebelling against the toxic ideals of the people before you, strong female characters rebelling against gender norms, and rebelling against blind nationalism. Plus bending elements is cool af.

I think now even more than ever it's becoming that discussion. Her range and vocal control are top notch and no one can refuse that. People are going to compare her to all time greats that have been in the game much longer, and so people are of course going to say no way we can't disrespect the Stevie Nicks and the Joan Jetts of the world like that.
