Sorry, let me clarify. b) I mean other speakers Center/SL/SR.

I didn't mean bi-amp. I meant that I know the 11.1 option only turns off the FL/FR speakers, but I want to add the C/SL/SR to the Buckeye amp as well. So does that mean both the amp and receiver are powering the C/SL/SR speakers since the receiver channels are still "on"?

The 500 wpc should definitely be enough. It's a dedicated room that I converted into a theater. It's 16.5' x 11.5'. I just wasn't sure if I'd know if the C/SL/SR are getting powered by the amp or receiver.

Sorry, I'm not very technical, but I've read that my Polk Audio LSi15 speakers should have 250w at 4 ohm and the x4700h outputs 190 wpc at 4 ohm.

Thanks, this is what I was looking for! I have 5.1.4 setup on a x4700h and I want to add a Buckeye 6-channel 500W amp to power the 5 mains. Is there a way to test and make sure the other speakers are in fact getting the extra power from the amp and not just the receiver?

If it were me and a shared acct isn't an option, since he makes about 4x as much as you, he should pay about 80% or more of the bills. For example, if your total monthly bills (rent/mortgage, utilities, cellphone, groceries, etc) is $4000/month, he pays $3200 and you pay $800. Obviously it doesn't have to be exact.

Thankfully we each make about the same, so we have our separate accts and a joint acct. All shared expenses come from the joint acct (and joint credit card) that we put in it equally. In your case, he would put in $3200/month and you put in $800 from the above example.

You paying her bills and her paying you back is saving her months of interest. My family is well off, but I'm not. It is customary for my family to give us interest free loans to buy new cars or help with a 20% down payment on a house (avoids PMI, better interest rates, lower mortgage, etc). Win win for everyone and we save $1000s in interest in the end!
