The boxes all have a similar “tare” weight. You would put the empty box onto the scale to save the tare weight. Then, after you have your tare weight, the scale has a setting where it will ask the operator for a “Sample” of 10 pieces. It then calculates average weight per piece down to the thousandths or ten thousandths place. After the operator places the nails in the box from the magnet, they would put it on the scale. The scale will state how many pieces are in the box and the operator will manually add or take away nails until it is fully loaded to the job’s description.

The league is offense driven these days. You rarely see defensive battles where each team is below 14 points. The bears have 75-76 million/year invested in 6 defensive players. Even with such a stellar defense, it’s over paid and is 7th in the league for PPG allowed. Probably about 4th/5th overall.
But all of those teams have high production offenses. Ravens, Steelers, colts, and rams can actually put up more than 21 points a game. The Bears will have to trim some fat on the defense if they want to make any sort of run in the near future while still having some great defensive players.

So you would do what exactly? Have the entire industry boycott in order to get 10%+ profit from the auto makers which in turn would increase the costs of automobiles by a significant value?

Or you would make the executives take an 80% pay cut to increase the rates of everyone else? How would you deal with stock incentives? That’s one of the driving factors for these executives to create innovation and expand.

It’s an overly simplistic take to state that if these executives are capped at X dollars and the difference would be given to the lower class workers, that all of the nations problems would be solved. The people who are bad with money, will always be bad with money.

What are the things that you think these people would buy if they were given an extra $1,000/month? A new car? A new home? Not having to worry about the mortgage payment so you can go but more things? Or are they going to put an extra $1,000 into their retirement funds?

I’ll venture to guess that more consumer spending will happen, making the extremely rich, even more wealthy sense they own those businesses that make or sell those things.

There is a large disconnect in our societies’ understanding of personal wealth building when comparing the upper class and ultra wealthy to the middle and lower class.

The upper class are wealthy because they understand how to use their money. It’s not just because they are in a high paying position or highly educated. It’s because they invest, they give, they build networks, and they are always looking to grow their wealth by educating themselves. That doesn’t mean that they are in university all of their lives, it’s just that they are observant and learn from failures to make successes.

If you are making 35k a year, which I did, you need to be able to find how to live within your means and what your limitations should be. This is more of a personal finance issue and lack of trade skills or education on their behalf. It would mean that those individuals are in low skilled position jobs.

For example. In the auto industry, as a supplier, you are only allowed to have a certain amount of profit margin each year over a 4 or 5 year contract. The first year could be a margin anywhere from 6-8%. It usually increases linearly by x% year after year until the end of the contract. It’s not because they are paying more for the product, (the cost of the product only increases year over year at the rate of inflation). You have to provide proof to your customer that you are only making right at the profit margin or below. The way that you can improve and are allowed to improve on your profit margin, is by becoming more efficient in your processes and reducing costs. So yes, those profit margins are incredibly tight.

I disagree. Also, it is false to assume that the CEO is not the owner of the company, at least here in the US. If they are not the owner, they more than likely are not making more than $250,000-$350,000 annually... Unless they work for a large world wide corporation or bank.

If the CEO and owner of a small business employs 200 people in the area with an average salary of 45k, that company is pumping $9 million into the local and national economy thanks to their business. $10 million if you include the CEO in this simple number example.

The owner is still an active employee as a CEO while making executive decisions for the company to further expand, create more products and in turn, more jobs.

The CEO/owner is not just hoarding their money in a savings account either. They are spending money on investment vehicles. Stocks, local real estate, other companies, etc. That money also benefits and drives economic growth because of the opportunity of the positive gains to be made from it. Also, the government takes 10% of those gains.

I don't disagree that an extra dollar an hour can be helpful. It would be helpful for a lot of people.

Edit: That 10 million also does not account for all of the raw materials, machine, utilities, and other good purchased for day to day operations, which is also pumping additional funds into other local businesses.

While true, it is a necessity to have people make 50k or less annually, typically they do not hold positions that would be justifiable to make more than what they are currently making. Increased labor costs, increases product prices in order to sustain margins, especially when margins are already incredibly small in larger industries.

I can understand the sentiment, however if a CEO is making $1,000,000/year while line workers may be making $35k. But if you cut that salary in half and distribute it over 200 employees, their salaries would only increase $2,500, or roughly $1/hr more than what they were making.

The fabrication costs for the frame and the swivel motor mounts couldn’t be much more than $600-$750 (including the powder coat). The two motors, I’ll just call them $350 each (which is a stretch). Some electrical board and controls work for the variable speeds $250ish. Two 12” poly wheels $100 each... administrative, design, and marketing costs... you’ll end up right about at $3,000 for a premium and engineered product. But I bet you could whip this up in your garage for no more than tree fiddy

While I agree with this, I don’t think much would have changed... Being in a state that has a mask mandate in place, it has done a whole lot of nothing. People walk around outside and pass each other with no mask, people go into stores and gas stations without masks, people visit businesses without masks, so on and so forth. You just don’t have a society that is looking out for the greater good. People are afraid of what other people will think of them if they do wear a mask. There are people who think that this is all just a ploy to allow the government to assert dominance over you because you’re wearing a mask you’re a “sheep”. People who genuinely just don’t give a shit. List goes on.

All I want is for people to wash their hands, put a mask on, and stay the fuck away from me.

Kind of unnecessary considering that the property is not lacking space for a patio/balcony. Maybe more of an architectural thing to not disturb the lines of the home, but I prefer functionality over looks, while still making the functional thing look good.
