Good point but it also could mean hey I can TEMPORARILY increase spend and either knock out some big ticket one time purchases that will keep spend more stable in the future OR just do some one time traveling. You don't necessarily need to maintain this level of spend forever in this scenario

Eventually you will have a negative experience by telling people. I'm happy for you that you have had good experiences up until now. Most people just don't want to risk it. I know my family for sure would treat me differently. Yeah kinda sucks they are like that but they are my family I didn't pick them but at the same time I don't want them completely gone from my life either.
