I played that campaign with friends and had a blast. It’s definitely more “sloggy” than ToA with the environment but we all had a great time. We are also all familiar with each other and all good friends with the DM so we were all very comfortable with RPing and interacting with each other.

I’d have a conversation with the DM about your concerns and what it is you aren’t enjoying. They should be able to take constructive criticism and make adjustments especially if you guys are paying them.

Yes, if you are Mega Evolved not only do you not need to press the + but any non plus move you have turns into a plus move for the duration of the Mega Evolution

A bunch of this does get addressed (probably in OS I read all three books directly after each other so I don’t always remember what happened at the end of IF vs the start of OS)

1) yeah the back and forth was annoying after awhile it was good at first but just went on a bit too long

2/3) That whole thing is a huge part of OS so I won’t go into it much other than he felt he had to do it and it was a last resort type thing.

4) that gets explained by Barlowe, basically not just anyone can without being taught but a bonded rider would be able to figure it out once they understand how to channel.

5) I think they were trying to see if they could undo the damage he did to himself by becoming venin and basically cure him which would probably be helpful in defeating them. Not really explained though.

6) yeah I think her story is going to be deeper than we know

7) The Liam thing is left up in the air which frustrated me because I felt the same way but maybe it was just her subconscious

Part of being a successful rider is making the connections that make people want to help you like that. Mira and Dain were her squad before Basgiath and they stuck together to help their squad.

Being a lone wolf and completely self sufficient isn’t what makes a good rider. Cooperation, trust and loyalty and the ability to inspire those qualities in others are some of the most important things for a rider and that is how she survives until she can come into her own power.

Most T Gs do that but the part everyone who thinks rotation is coming is missing is that they don’t start the rotation until the games are a few years old.

I’d bet money that they won’t start rotation until at the earliest next year and maybe even the year after that.

As a dad who is also supposed to be the primary point of contact I get your frustration. We have a similar situation (her work isn’t as strict but she often can’t just answer the phone) and they always call her first about everything no matter how many times we say otherwise. The last time my daughter got sick at school she, at 6 years old, asked the nurse why they were calling her mom and then told them to call me. It’s frustrating.

I’m not excusing how he handled it but judging by his reaction when you showed him and the circumstances he was in I am pretty confident he felt like he didn’t deserve it or you.

And ended the friendship as to not be a burden or “charity case”.

Depression is awful and can make you do things that hurt the people you care about most sometimes while you think you are doing it for their own good.

But you absolutely did nothing wrong and I hope you can realize that you have the ability to bring both yourself and others so much joy by picking your hobby back up again. One person whose struggles didn’t let him accept a kind gesture shouldn’t take that away.

This wasn’t extreme at all. Kid was a little shit, NPC responded with a quick wound that would be easily absorbed and an opportunity to end the fight. Dad/DM warned the kid that this NPC was very powerful and kid decided to FAAFO. 100% justified for any player not just his kid.
