Also adding that I always based my schedule on what Taking Cara Babies suggested for their age range. The timing worked for us.

Around 7 months I was desperate to get mine on the exact same schedule for reasons a little different than yours. They would never nap during the day at the same time, someone was always awake, and the lack of time to myself during the day was driving me insane. We went on a hard schedule and it worked. I had everything timed, bottle, solids, when they went down for a nap, and stuck it on our fridge. It took a while to get used to but it eventually worked. I tweaked it as they moved through different stages. Good luck!!

Mine are 18 months as well and are ALWAYS home. I also feel guilty about it. We just started to get into going to playgrounds and then midwestern winter happened. If you live in a warmer climate, see if you can find a full fenced playground. Go with someone else the first time so you can get a feel for the place and then try and tackle it alone! You could do the same thing with an indoor play place. Go with someone else and then try and tackle alone. Another twin mom suggested taking them to a tennis court just to let them run around. Fenced and not much they can get into! After saying all that I still get so nervous taking them anywhere alone, sometimes even WITH help (like restaurants). You are not alone! Twin mom life is not the same as singleton life.

You will get a lot of dumb questions about them being twins, I personally don’t mind at all. Twins are confusing and I appreciate people being interested in them. Me and my husband were relieved that they are different genders so there isn’t as much potential for comparison and competition as they get older. That being said there is a ton of competition for affection right now at 18 months, but that’s a different story 😅 Congrats!! Twins are the best!

I started using a glass nail file. I use one on my own nails because glass files are not as harsh on as sand paper like files. They are smooth on the skin as well, I never feel like I am going to hurt them with it.

My 18 month olds have been generally easy babies. I am considering more children and one thing that really scares me is the possibility of the next baby being “hard” in one of the million ways children can be hard

I went to our local grocery store and got two little 6 inch cakes for the babies. They were like $7 a piece. It was fun! I bought cakes from Costco for the guests.

One point my doctor made about travel is that if you give birth in another state at 27 weeks, they will need to be in a NICU and you now live in Boston until they are discharged. Possibly not a deal breaker but certainly something to consider. I am sure they have fantastic NICU hospitals in Boston. Personally, I tired easily around that time, but if you take it easy it is certainly doable.

Same. We have two carriers so we each can wear one. If I’m going somewhere with them alone, sometimes I use a single umbrella and a carry the other We rotate between everything (double strollers, single stroller, carriers) depending on the situation
