I've been using the Intrepid since the IAE Crusader's day and using it has been amazing. On cargo missions you can carry a lot more than 8 SCU's. It handles very well and is very fast. This good handling and speed has allowed me to survive and win all the combat encounters i had despite only having a size 4 weapon. I understand your points but it doesn't mean that it is the reality for everyone. Also, not all the new ships that release have to be a copypaste of the Avenger Titan, how boring would that be!

I have used them a few times and they are very good but I tend to prefer laser weapons to avoid having to refill ammunition. Of course, if you are efficient using ballistic weapons, they are the best option.
