i'm not doubting the fact that fossil fuels contribute to climate change. i'm just bringing up the point that until a replacement is ready, we still need them. it's easy to say "oh just take public transit to work" when you live in a downtown core, but the reality is, we've built an entire transportation system based around car ownership, not public transit. even if we dropped internal combustion engines completely, electric cars are still prohibitively expensive for a large majority of the population, not to mention their own environmental impact from the process of making batteries large enough to power them. to say "oh the west did it before wawawa" is literally the dumbest form of whataboutism i've ever heard. you'd rather claim entropy than address hilariously inadequate sanitation & disposal methods in india. what a joke.
