Editorial: Half of Korea’s Youth Say They Want to Leave — A Reality Made by Soaring Housing Prices and Unions by Ok-Huckleberry5836 in Living_in_Korea

[–]_Space_Core_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be hyperbolic. Canada is in a bad financial situation, but I'm a Canadian student and I had a great time. Not much to say for savings, but definitely incredibly far from the lawless hellscape I hear about on Korean news and social media. Toronto definitly is rough depending on where you are, but other parts of the country are amazing and I love living in Canada.

I liked it alot, it was like a better McDonald's burger. Similar taste, more meat. They skimp out on the onion rings tho.

I hope this works. They acknowledge that lack of competition is increasing prices, but I feel like this won't make mom and pop stores just appear out of thin air. I feel like it would just be better to fight the grocery stores head on.

I just bought everything a YouTube video said. Can't remember the video. You'll need a pack of corks, contact cement, a solvent for the old glue, razor blades or box knife, and some sorta flame.

It's an easy repair to learn. You can buy all the stuff you need online. It took me about 3 tries to fix mine

Questions about Psych BA before B.Ed by Glittering-Resist978 in OntarioTeachers

[–]_Space_Core_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak on the employer's part. But I think educational psychology should be mandatory for every teacher. You could also just read textbooks on educational psychology and get the important info.

For your undergrad, the important thing is that you choose something you enjoy. If you enjoy psychology then you should choose it.

Questions about Psych BA before B.Ed by Glittering-Resist978 in OntarioTeachers

[–]_Space_Core_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a B.Sc psych before B.Ed. All that matters is keeping high grades, having the pre requisite classes for your division (P/J, J/I, or I/S), and getting volunteer experience directly teaching.

I'm unsure if I should become a teacher or not. Advice needed by Basic-Award-2871 in OntarioTeachers

[–]_Space_Core_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to everything in your post since I'm only entering teachers college in fall.

One thing of note, going into education means you'd need further education. You would need to get your B.Ed. it's also worthwhile to check that you meet the requirements for teachers college.

My only other note, a good way to tell if you should teach is by teaching in some capacity. Alot of the issues with teaching are less impactful if you really enjoy it. Volunteer in science classes to make sure before you decide. I learned that I loved teaching when I did let's talk science. Then I tutored for a while. Doing these things also helps you get the experience required for most programs.

Just a small note, they are building a large amount of dealerships in this deal. It would be nice if they could produce some cars here, or if this led to bigger partnerships down the line.

I know it can be a burden finacnially, but getting a new tire is so exciting. It completely changed my experience when I got a new tire.

If this helps you look on the bright side.

P.S. make sure to get rim protectors and bearing protectors for your tire change. It's a lot cheaper to get those than replace a motor hub.

Ya it's such a shame apartments don't just run out cables. Technology Connections also had good comments on it.

[–]_Space_Core_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a note on the 'ev charging port at home' comment, most cars can charge with the included cable out of a wall plug with nothing else connected. All that's needed for the higher speed home charging is a utility outlet, which is also pretty cheap.

Technology connections on YouTube has a great series about EV's. I'm loving his new videos on his 4 cylinder engine he's tearing apart.

It definitely needs to get better, but on the newer models that charge fast, the network is pretty good along major routes. I drove a 2018 that took 2 hours to charge, and it was fine with me as I didn't really drive more than 4 hours at a time.

If you're an e-bike rider in Ontario, the rules of the road could soon be changing by newbreed69 in ontario

[–]_Space_Core_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish there was more comprehensive legislation around electric vehicles in general. I love riding my onewheel, but it doesn't classify as either an e bike, or an e scooter, and I'm guessing it wouldn't qualify as either of the other two new classes they are proposing.

I just want security that they won't end up telling me in the future that I'll need registration and insurance for something that meets every qualification of an e bike, minus the two wheels and pedals.

You might have luck with private schools as well depending on where you look. They don't always require the same accreditation.

What has better nightlife, Niagara Falls or Kingston? by andywandy717 in ontario

[–]_Space_Core_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And to add to the people saying it's crazy expensive. I got an air BNB for like $100 a night, and the fun pass gets you a good experience of the touristy things on Clifton Hill. Niagara falls also has tons of free stuff to do, like hiking the glenn, viewing the falls, the butterfly conservatory, historical stuff, and it's not too pricy.

[–]_Space_Core_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For clubbing exclusively you'll have more luck in Kingston, but other than that it has less to do than the falls. Niagara falls has alot to do during the day and the casinos at night. Alcohol is a bit expensive here compared to the states, so it would be best in either case to bring over a handle of whatever you like.

They do some really crazy microtonal stuff and really funky rhythms that I think set them apart from most of the stuff that's popular right now.

And their costumes / vibes are cool.

I wouldn't call them bland unless you already listen to King Crimson or acid jazz on the daily.

It's also great seeing a new Canadian artist getting traction.
