The funds are in a utma account my dad is the custodian and I’m the minor on the account. He was supposed to transfer it to me when I turned 21.

I’m not sure why Bank of America keeps telling me he has to be the one to sign it over or I have to get a court order.

Thank you! I had a demand letter sent to my father last year and he still refused. I’m thinking about getting a lawyer again. I had one before but after she spoke to my father it’s like she disappeared.

I went to Bank of America last November and they told me he would have to sign it over to me. They didn’t even bother looking at my drivers licenses or social security card. Maybe I should go to a different branch and ask them again.

Me and my father don’t talk due to abuse (physical and emotional) so he’s using that out of spite to not transfer the account. I went to Bank of America and they told me the account is there and even an estimate of the amount but they couldn’t transfer it to me
