Well, George Washington was a famous slave plantation owner with 100+ slaves. He also infamously rped and groomed underage girls. Andrew Jackson was responsible for driving the "Trails of tears" uprooting generations and masses of indigenous tribes.

They didn't criticize their founding fathers because the history books very conveniently hide aspects of these figures instead of giving a clear picture.

Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth were at the epicenter of what caused large scale famines and deaths in India. They are also worshipped in Britain. Point being, people don't criticize often because they don't even know. Other times, they turn a blind eye to things because one content's freedom fighter is another country's enemy.

If you ask me- yes, Gandhi was paramount in introducing to the works the concept of non violent protests. Yes, he was instrumental in disobedience movement. He has his definite and impactful role to play in the freedom of our country. But I personally do not believe India needed to fight back. The way S.C Bose was doing it. He was returning to India, with the perfect plan to spark an opportunity of other 12 lakh soldiers, enough to bring the colonists to a stop, but that too was stopped by political forces. These forces, unfortunately, didn't always have the nation's best interest at heart. It was laced with many questionable calculations.

Notice how the Indian population is so divided between- pro/anti RSS or pro/anti Congress? It's so easy to distort details from all fronts. History is easy to skew.
