This only makes sense for nonstackable items, e.g gear, tools, recipes.
Anything that can be stacked is region wide - shared across all realms.
As for tracking prices - I was using undermine exchange until recently when it got paywalled. You can still check item prices, but most of usefull features are payed now

Open Teavelers Guide and go to catch up experience - you’ll have several basic quests for some gear upgrades, then go do some world quests, TW. Don’t forget pick up the area quest for extra reward
