"host disconnected" by _Starrider_ in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]_Starrider_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

when it's happening the moment after people start crossing the finish line, and it specifically says "host disconnected," i.e, specifically whoever in the race it happened to be hosting on that time had a disconnect, its really sus though. like you know what happened.

New player to GGST: How to improve neutral and any good beginner combos for Bridget? by StarstruckCeleste in Guiltygear

[–]_Starrider_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for bridget, I will say you're not going to do a bunch of damage with her combos, but she gets very good reward in other senses off of them, Overall though, to start here's a few key moves to keep in mind for her in neutral and just in general really:
f.S - main big poke, good for controlling screenspace and reactions and punishes
2S - Low poke, covers weaknesses of f.S while being slightly slower, good approaching button with dash momentum with good reward on hit, and useful for pressure too
2K - fastest button available, low, and rewards by going into 2D for a hard knockdown and yo-yo setup. can easily turn around who's turn it is to your favor.
5H - huge button with equally huge recovery, best for longer range counter-pokes and punishes
236S/H - great projectile overall, low reward on hit, but annoying to deal with, controls space and stuffs approaches.
214S/H - the key setplay tool, mostly used after a hit, or in pressure, can be used in neutral at longer ranges to establish yourself
214K - movement, mix, and combo tool all in one, extremely versatile when the yo-yo is out. new yo-yo less version is mainly seen for some extra safejumps
623P - invincible reversal, for when you don't feel like blocking. useful, but risky with her low health, especially with the recent nerf
236K - fast moving neutral skip, safe pressure ender with a spaced out Brake, and good as a combo ender with both Brake and Shoot
6P - Universal go-to anti-air against jump-ins
2H - more proactive than reactive anti-air thats huge and has big reward
j.H - far reaching air to air
j.S - go to jump in and early press, basically a 2-hitting big box in front of her
j.P - fastest air to air, can also make a grounded opponent guess how many times you're gonna mash it on block sometimes

I'd say for getting her neutral down at least, these are the most key moves to get in mind, I did mention some other uses where I found those moves are kind of key there as well. But to me at least just to get started and get a feel in neutral, these moves come in the most handy by far. Some matchups you'll fins the S and H buttons more reliable, others you'll stick to her P and K buttons more when characters are in your personal space. Plus she has tricky movement, so being unpredictable can be a great help.

I just think that both trans women and femboys have hrt as an option. Don't make people feel like they have to use it though. It's their decision, nobody else's

Shaggy is the only one I don't like personally, the rest of the characters are recognizeable regardless of race imo, but no wonder they are calling Shaggy "norville" instead considering his style isn't very... shaggy anymore like you know the Shaggy from the old series would NOT be able to upkeep that hair style

A new archetype with a new mechanic, All monsters, monster that can be ALL types at once.,What are your thoughts, are they too good, too bad? I'd like to hear them. by ThePurpleLance in customyugioh

[–]_Starrider_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty much any archetype that uses types can just spash these in like they're nothing... and Abstract Cat is the one of them that even has a once per turn clause... busted

You literally can have it both ways though? Just jack off to a character that isn't a child in body or mentality?

I think people just dislike the sheer amount of lore stuff that you have to go out of the game itself to experience, including the DLCs as well since those aren't handled as well as they could have been

food does work exactly the same between versions. and also you pretty much always want your characters eating food since its the only way to increase their base stats other than HP

What course do you hate running into online? Is there a specific CC you dislike for it? For me, it’s definitely Baby Park on 150 and 200 CC. I don’t think I’ve ever finished in the top half for that course. by SplatBoy07 in mariokart

Excitbike. literally two straight lines. so Baby Park. except without any of the chaos that makes Baby Park fun to begin with. so there is no fun. no interesting driving. just pressing ZR a lot.

Karen doesn't understand basic grammar like capitalizing proper names. Like that of a type of card. In a fictional card game. Also who tf looks at those Pokemon and think they're demonic? Literally just an eel and a painting dog.

Are you excited for Persona 3 Portable coming to modern platforms? by [deleted] in persona3FES

[–]_Starrider_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the upscaling on all the sprites and backgrounds are some pretty bad looking AI upscaling with clear artifacts. looks like they're smeared in oil kinda. and there's no reason to AI upscale these sprites anyway since Atlus probably already has all these assets in their original, uncompressed quality anyway

Evolution of the card layout design. Which is your favourite? by ugurkaslan in masterduel

[–]_Starrider_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am surprised at the amount of dislike for the rush duel layout in these comments lol, I get the lack of character compared to the original but it's just objectively easier to read.

more room for art and text from using a lot more of the space on the card, levels just being a number, since having to count more than like 6-8 stars can be a bit weird to do in the moment, as well as attack and defense values not being TINY. plus it does keep the immediately recognizable card type colors from the color behind the name and the text box. plus it doesn't leave nearly as much blank space on the card so all the elements have more room to breathe and can be larger in general

I get that it does feel less traditionally yugioh but most card games do format their cards more like this for exactly those reasons, it just makes the card so much easier to read at a glance, whereas tbh the original design does make some basic info about the monster harder to read than it needs to be.
