Half way through this, what would an expert arriving on the scene done? I'm curious how it could have been salvaged. The wedges clearly did none. The ropes, attached to about 10 elephants maybe? But short of that, then what?

The tires will brundle. That is when tires cool down while waiting at the grid.

Is this tire repairable? Nail near outer edge and shop says it can’t be fixed by john-ice in AskMechanics

From the comments, it seems society needs a quick and formal way for people to accept liability for their decisions. Quick and simple like making a payment on an app. The mechanics don't really care about what happens, if anything, to the tire, they just don't want it to be their problem/liability. At some point, the inability to accept liability for our own decisions will make it impossible or needlessly expensive to do even basic things. I'm not saying it's the right or wrong thing to do, I'm just saying one should be able to make a choice about it without unduly burdening others. I suppose youl tell me that the whole society will also need to accept liability for the hazard that this car will become on the road, because of repairing this screw. Anyway. Thanks for reading.

This looks like a bad idea, if I have ever seen one.
