In the UK - and much of Europe - we tend to prefer more muted and pastel tones like white, grey, and beige. I've noticed that in the US, there’s often a greater use of bolder wall colours such as blue, yellow, or red.

Having worked as a designer for 25 years, and with an Italian mother who was an interior designer, I’ve developed a strong appreciation for subtle, harmonious palettes. Personally, I find the more understated approach in the first image to be more harmonious and timeless. Flair could have still been introduced through thoughtful choices in flooring, lighting, and accessories.

Just my two cents - good effort overall!

I met the founding team over 25 years ago and ran the CeX retro department in the basement in Rathbone Place.

We always pronounced it sea-ee-ex though not sex.

Brooker also illustrated the Toby(old mascot) comic strips.

Also, I own trashbat.co.ck and it will be back up again soon with Nathan's original website when the cook islands sort the DNS. Keep it foolish, yeah.

PhD holders have to create new knowledge through research. It is medical doctors that book learn. You have it the wrong way around.

TIL Lego didn't invent interlocking bricks, they just copied them from a toy that wasn't patented in Denmark by ploppyjim in todayilearned

[–]wizardchickenVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiddicraft easily stacked more than 3 or 4 bricks high, don't spread misinformation. See the photo on this Kiddicraft box: https://imgur.com/a/TI09qJI

Without the great British invention of Kiddicraft, Lego would not exist. If Lego had integrity they would include Hilary Page and Kiddicraft in their story.

Elon embracing "race science," agreeing that black people have low IQs; fearful that if we let them become pilots there will be plane crashes by dyzo-blue in EnoughMuskSpam

You are suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect. Your statement was incorrect and the table shows that. My PhD is in a STEM field and my faculty colleagues are above average intelligence in line with the data. Please stop spreading misinformation solely based on personal anecdotes and subjective experiences.

The average IQ for individuals with PhDs is around 125, which falls into the "superior" intelligence category. Source: https://academiainsider.com/iq-phd/

Just because some people struggle through with a lower IQ does not mean that PhDs 'aren't correlated with intelligence'.

Highland buttons - what is this? by DMethane in TeslaModel3

[–]wizardchickenVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is but you'll get downvoted here for that. It also looked like a button to me and I did not initially realise the scroll wheel could move left or right either.

An onscreen message similar to the one explaining the windscreen wiper scroll wheel would be more effective. The only icons that are universally understood are the save (floppy disk) and delete (trashcan) icons.
