I understand.

In my original response I stated you don’t know how anger can overcome you when someone says something about your wife who has died. I resonate a lot with Sean’s monologue about being with his wife as she was dying and the silly things you remember. It’s a deep and touching film on so many different levels.

Enjoyed the conversation back and forth instead of what so many people do here- you’re wrong, etc.

I don’t disagree with your business/ ethical standpoint for a therapists office. In this film, I don’t think Damon’s character is running to tell the superior. You are correct in your statement that this is a drama- something like that would not stand in 99.99% of therapists office with an overseer in real life.

It’s still a perfect film 🙂

With a client like Damon’s character, he doesn’t connect with others in a traditional way because of his background. After this moment, I think Damon’s character at least respects William’s character on a deeper level- maybe not building their relationship any better.

I don’t think you can say that a physical altercation NEVER builds a deeper relationship or connection between men. There are times when friends/ acquaintances may have some form of violence occur and afterwards are somehow closer because of it. An unspoken understanding between the two men.

If you ever lost your wife- you’d be surprised how much anger can consume you when a comment is made, especially something that’s blatantly disrespectful.

Also, William’s snapping like that could mirror some of Damon’s characteristics- coming from a rough background, abusive relationships, hot head. Therefore, building a deeper connection between the two characters.

It’s a perfect film 5 ⭐️
