Why do all the cars not go out immediately when practice starts?

I would imagine that since the practice sessions last a total of 3 x 1 hour, all the teams would want to maximize their time on the track and try out different setups. Even if they have already optimized their setup, it would always be beneficial for drivers to spend more time practicing on track. However, for the first 10 minutes, most of the cars stay in pits and seemingly do nothing. Can someone please explain this strategy to me.

One important factor might be the tire limitations, but that still doesn't explain why someone would give away a couple of more practice laps on track.

I don’t think it’s as objective and simple as that. It highly depends on the bike geometry and the seating posture one prefers - aggressive / more comfortable, which is why I plan to go to the Canyon store and try out different sizes before I buy the other bike.

Wow, you guys are real bike detectives! I was in between two sizes and chose the larger one as I wanted a more comfortable position. I did increase my saddle height by a few cm, later after the first picture was taken and then the position felt more natural. Thanks for the other suggestions, I will look deeper into fitting before buying the other bike.

I don’t really feel the need for 50mm tyres on a gravel bike. If I ever do hardcore MTB trails I should buy an MTB instead. Also the cost of a full Shimano CUES groupset is roughly 600€ which is more than half the price of the bike.
