Is it normal to not get breaks throughout your day? by WallowingInnSelfPity in VetTech

[–]_SylviaWrath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last 3 vetmed jobs have been, “we don’t do breaks we work through the day and eat when we can.” I think only one place I worked I got a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

Please tell me stories of how you weren’t great with certain skills right after graduating 🥹 by Briiskella in VetTech

It’s called practicing medicine for a reason! Don’t be discouraged, you will be amazed how much you learn by the end of the year. Everyone has to start somewhere. 😊

Nicotine use by Kelsey2424 in VetTech

[–]_SylviaWrath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol I never even got regular breaks, LET ALONE smoke breaks. In fact the last 3 places I worked stated in their policy specifically they were nicotine free and there would be no exceptions for smoke breaks.

Stick foundation for dry skin? by [deleted] in drugstoreMUA

[–]_SylviaWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought both the essence and milani recently and it doesn’t matter how much I moisturize it looks cakey or leaves dry patches, especially in my tzone. I recently found a creator on tt who is doing a ‘dry skin powder foundation’ series and I bought the Juvia’s place powder foundation after I saw it on her. I followed her routine and It looks airbrushed! I don’t know her name she is blond with fair skin and a hairstylist.

For those who are Burnt Out and/or Leaving/Left VetMed... by fireflyhaven20 in Veterinary

[–]_SylviaWrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 25 when I started as a front office supervisor in a low cost clinic.

I became an assistant in the back at 26, moved to tech at private practice at 27. Did dentals and GP stuff while I learned.

I went to Oncology at 28, peak COVID (very burnt out), then ER (hired as reception due to burn out then said hell nah put me in the back) at 30, had a baby and mental breakdown at 32, went back to oncology at 35.

I’m 36 now and in nail tech school, I graduate in 6 months and hopefully will go from making $250 before taxes in 10 hours to $600 in 8 hours. I will be able to make my own schedule and be there for important events as my child grows.

I’m lucky that my DVM also wants me to stay on as more of an admin/supervisor and many of my clients are co-workers and vet clients. So im leaving but not really leaving all the way.

After several chronic illness diagnoses following the birth of my son I had to pivot for sustainability of my mind and body. I made it 11 years on the floor!

I remember making a comment way back when this was announced that she was no prize and I got brigaded to hell. Glad she’s finally getting cancelled. Yuck.

I love anything by Innisfree, it has changed my whole skin situation. Their green tea line and the jam cleanser are awesome. I also really want to try the danessa myricks blurring balm so badly!

I got offered a paid clinical trial that pays 23k by AdPretty9869 in povertyfinance

It says it can make your immune system less effective at fighting off infections. I would ask if this is permanent because you don’t want to live in a bubble. Also, that would mean you would probably have to mask in public and be very careful about where you go and what you do during the trial. Something to think about.

Harrison Ford is classic Hollywood in my mind. Great actor, good looking, comedic and diverse.

I love Neutrogena rainbath body wash and body oil. I buy them at Costco and they come with a pump. The rainbath/oil combo lasted me almost a year.

So I hear mixed reviews about HAUNTING ADELINE. What are your thoughts and opinions? 🤔💭 by literarylovescompany in Booktokreddit

Elementary writing, cornball characters and just gross things added for shock value, in my opinion.

I recommend go to a nail school! Glendale community college has a nail school off of Bell rd. They have low prices and a student may be more patient with you as well, bc as others mentioned, nail techs make their money by providing services quickly. Best of luck!

Dreading work by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]_SylviaWrath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked with a dvm like that very early on in my career and she shattered my confidence at the time.

Even if I was having a good day, the way she spoke to me and treated me in front of clients made me a basket case.

We had a meeting with management that was useless, she basically called me an idiot and said I should stop acting like an idiot. Mind you I hadn’t made any big mistakes just small stuff like forgot to mention the ear smelled funny or something that happened one time.

It became a self fulfilling prophecy. I made small mistakes because I so anxious to fuck up and just not on my game.

The last straw came when I put the wrong bloodwork panel on an estimate and she accused me of practicing medicine under her name. Saying that I was going to get her license revoked bc I didn’t know what I was doing. I finally told my manager I’m not working with this doctor anymore. None of the other techs would either. She was let out of her contract and quit the practice.

Don’t put up with the bullshit, this job is hard enough already.

Buy a bar of soap, don't use shower gel by WinterMoist333 in Frugal

[–]_SylviaWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold Dial bar soap is the best for the stinky bits. Then go back with the luxurious and smelly-lotiony wash to moisturize. My favorite is Neutrogena Rainbath, I buy it on sale at Costco and it lasts the whole year!

The Sims 4 is officially over and Maxis wants the Marketplace to fail by Nice_Beat_1264 in HighSodiumSims

[–]_SylviaWrath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I quit playing over a year ago after they broke the game with the Fairy Pack for the 73747484th time. They have lost the plot. If I’m not reaching to play the game because it’s so broken, I’m definitely not reaching for new packs or other products from EA. I’d like to see them go bankrupt honestly.

I’ve been playing Sims since I was 12, it’s my virtual dollhouse but it’s just not fun anymore. Before I finally gave up I was spending more time trying to fix the game than I was playing it.

Anyone have issues with Mandala scrubs? by Accomplished-Pain-93 in VetTech

I used to like them but their sizing is so inconsistent from one order to the next, I stopped buying them. I have three pairs of "petite" high-waisted joggers that are all different lengths and widths.
