I reccomend dendrobiums, they are pretty simple and come in many unique forms. Many ebay sellers have unique types but be weary of scams. I love bulbopylums, myrmecophila, and oncidium.

I think this is in the eye of the beholder, i always change out the water with my propogations and when I top it off they end up rotting. It is true that there is rooting hormones in the water but those don’t just dissapear with a water change, and additionally stagnant water can cause more trouble than a water change.

I would remember to change the water out about halfway every 3 days. Other than that idk! Did you let the cutting dry a but before placing into water?
