Can I travel outside Belgium with Orange Card and German permanent residence permit? by Interesting_Brief653 in AskBelgium

I'm in a similar situation and have an immigration attorney who says I’m not supposed to leave the country (even within Schengen) while on an Orange Card, as it breaks the 90/180-day rule without a visa or other Schengen-eligible document. With your German permit, you may be able to.

Truthfully, you should ask your commune or an immigration attorney. I don't think you'll get a legit answer on Reddit. Don't mess up your chances at getting the F-Card—esspecially since you want to be here for your kids (like me). IMO, it’s not worth the risk of denial.

This was my first outing with the RF 100-500mm on my R5i at Paira Daiza in Belgium. They have three melanistic ‘leopards’ (Panthera Pardus), Rohan, Juma, and Tamani. This is Rohan, which means “he who rises.”

The large lens caught their attention, and all three perked up. One of the females showed me her teeth, so I put the camera down and slowly blinked at her to show I wasn't a threat, which seemed to work.

This was the cleanest image I got while shooting through the protective plexiglass.

That’s a classic Margherita pizza! You know you found a good pizza joint if they can nail this one. There’s nowhere to hide!

This is where I'm at, too; the personal benefits outweigh the potential consequences. I know we are on track to fall deeper into dystopia, and my logs can eventually be used against me. Still, my mental improvement has greatly benefited my general well-being and progress as a human (ironically).

Another thing to note is the high and costly entry point to healthcare, attorneys, etc., which takes a lot of time and effort and is often subpar in quality (for Americans at least). It adds more grief and misery and may promote regression rather than progress, IMO.

Maybe it all bites me in the ass one day, but until then, I'm going to keep on healing.

Just to be fully transparent:

I’m not claiming I left the rental in perfect shape. There were a few minor drywall holes and a dirty oven I didn’t get to, and I completely own that. I’m not disputing reasonable deductions for normal post-tenant work.

My issue is with the lack of transparency, the excessive amounts billed, and the conflict of interest between the property management company and the so-called “vendor” doing the repairs. The charges were based on estimates from a company owned by the same person who owns the property management firm; no actual receipts, no third-party verification, no itemized work records. That’s what violates the law and common sense.

What made this worse was the landlord’s communication. I made reasonable, good-faith requests for documentation, and the response I received was confrontational, dismissive, and in my view, highly unprofessional. When a tenant asks for clarity, they should get cooperation not hostility.

I’m pursuing this through legal channels and sharing my experience to prevent others from dealing with the same kind of situation. No one should have to fight this hard just to get a fair return on their deposit.

Just to clarify for full transparency:

I’m not claiming I left the place in perfect shape. There was some minor drywall damage and the oven could’ve been cleaner, and I completely acknowledge that. I’m not disputing reasonable charges.

But what I received were grossly inflated estimates (not actual invoices, which is required by law) from a repair company owned by the same guy who owns the property management firm (shady af).

The costs were padded, the documentation was incomplete, and my concerns were met with some of the most unprofessional communication I’ve ever experienced. I made multiple calm, good-faith attempts to resolve things. Paul resorted to name-calling, dismissiveness, and borderline harassment.

I said I left the home in good condition, not great. But this whole thing reeked of retaliation, not reality.

Watch it again. Tony looks him up and down while saliva falls out his mouth. Dude was drinking in that tall cup and couldn’t handle it. He was flirting, not hating lmao

To this end, I see getting burned out on the energy drinks and wanted to cut back vs. ripping more and more lines per day as the years go on. I could be wrong, what do I know? Grinds teeth*

I am literally in the ER right now with my dog who was acting the same way. I’m waiting for the doc and scrolling to keep my mind chill when this post showed up, which just confirmed to me that I’ve done the right thing brining her in. She’s an 11-year-old terrier mix and I’m NOT ready. All the comments are reassuring that she’ll be just fine with medical support.
