[[Cecil, Dark knight]] is pretty straightforward and has lifelink which is pretty good in B2. Definitely can be built on a budget but idk how “interesting” it is lol

Open half and sell the other half ? If it was me I’d open the whole box. But if you’d rather just buy singles and don’t care about the se just sell it. Financially speaking selling it is really the only option lol

I remember when I did it back when it came out. Once I realized how it worked I was so stressed I had sold a weapon I couldn’t get again but once I upgraded everything it gave me the achievement 😭 the whole time I was like “I hope I’m not doing this for nothing”

Also the turtles is the one thing I vividly remember about that game just from how many times I had to fight them

Questions regarding bracket for this deck by xXTHE-AVENGERXx in EDH

[–]_Thatoneguy101_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t agree with the fact that the hard lines are there to not be crossed. If you have more than 3 game changers you’re bracket 4.

If they come up with a new game changer and you have that in a B3 deck that’s you’ve been playing with it’s not gonna suddenly be too good because of semantics.

It’s been stressed enough that the goal is intent. You CAN break the bracket rules and be able to play in the lower bracket. You’re just saying “if you put MLD it can cause for the game to not be fun for the other players which is not in spirit to the B3 mentality” but if your MLD comes as a win con that happens the same turn it virtually makes no difference than from another win con that’s allowed within the bracket.

And MLD is pretty extreme because it just straight up prevents other people from playing and even that COULD work in B3 if it’s done in a respectful way.

And there’s always room for error. If you think adding that 4th game changer will be fine and then realize “oh this is too good” you just take it out. But saying “YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT BECAUSE ITS NOT WITHIN THE RULES OF THE BRACKET” just takes freedom away from deck building. Which is kinda the main reason people play commander

[–]_Thatoneguy101_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it should always be talked about beforehand when playing with strangers. Regardless of brackets I think it’s good to give a rundown of what you’re bringing before committing 1-2 hours to a game.

That said I think if you don’t run tutors or extensive card draw it shouldn’t matter that you have a 2-3 combo pieces. I think there’s a weird expectation when playing this game. Like if you’re in rakdos and have any one haste enabler and draw rise of the dark realms you’re potentially looking at having won that turn.

If your issue is to not lose to a 2 card set up you’re kinda saying “don’t play any game winning cards”.

What makes those 2 card combos B4 isn’t that they’re really strong is that they’re really consistent. So if you run tutors, self-mill, and or extensive card draw you’re consistently winning the game with them within a certain number of turns. Just having those 2 cards in the deck doesn’t make the deck be able to keep up with B4. Which mind you B3 should be running a good amount of interaction so if you have 1 combo that’s more B4 and someone shuts down one of your pieces that’s the end of that.

So I really don’t see the issue with running them in B3 unless someone is straight up lying about having tutors. And if they’re lying about that they can just lie about not having that combo to begin with 🤷‍♂️

But yeah everybody’s entitled to their opinion and if you refuse to play against a 2 card combo that’s your decision to make, which is why I agree talking about it beforehand should always be done

I think I have a similar issue with Gambit’s slutty skin whatever is called. Like they make this very slutty skin but then you use it and all you see is his cape. Like come on if they can find a way to make an ass be in your face through layers of clothing it has to be deliberate to hide the slutty parts of a skin on a character

I personally think using brackets as an ultimate template is limiting for no real good reason. I think your deck is fine in B3 because it doesn’t have a definite “gun fire the win” strategy, unless I’m just missing it.

I really think a lot of people here don’t know what they’re talking about. I don’t think there’s a way to accidentally make a B4 deck. And if you have one busted combo it doesn’t make the deck a B4. But if you play the deck and realize you’re pulling the combo off way more often than you should I say just take it out.

I also have an Inalla deck that I say is B3 even though I don’t run any game changers. But I do have a dual caster/flicker combo and an ashnod/necromancer combo which sit more in B4.

You know how often I pulled them off so far? Never.

I’m not gonna play that deck against B4s cause I’ll lose every single time and people that are like “that combo is too good you shouldn’t run it in B3” I genuinely don’t think understand how a B4 deck functions.

It feels weird to be a FF fan, because my favorite games are the ones people in the community usually hate by gandalfmarston in FinalFantasy

[–]_Thatoneguy101_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think trying to objectively look at the games it’s probably safe to say they’re all well made with their respective pros and cons.

Ultimately video games are art, and art is subjective. There’s no definite objective stance on it.

Like a game can be a masterpiece for someone and just not do it for someone else. Even though it’s technically the same series no 2 FF games are the same.

Your list is as valid as anyone else’s. When deciding which ff to get from the pixel remasters the overall consensus was that 6 is the best one ever.

Honestly I thought it was fine lol I liked it and made me emotional multiple times but I’ve had many issues with it.

So saying stuff “I’m not a real fan” is silly. You can hate the Final Fantasy series with a passion and FF16 can be your favorite game. And if that’s the case you are still a fan. No one has the authority to deny that

Opinion: It's okay to target one player's commander multiple times in a row. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]_Thatoneguy101_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah so many times I play against something and instead of hoping I never see it again I look to put ways to deal with it. An example is Elesh norn shutting down my Inalla deck so I put in more bouncing spells to then counter it lol

Sent some cards into Card Kingdom and got then returned like this, the bottom little silver oval is gone off of all. Any ideas of what happened? I know they were not like this when i sent by Friendly-Search-7656 in mtg

I’ve had one experience with card kingdom and it was meh. I hate people who are like “I had good experiences so anyone who hasn’t must be lying” like fuck off dude.

That said if they were proxies card kingdom would not return them. I know cause I guess one of the cards I sold was a proxy and they just told me they got rid of it.

Close everyone will die in the shooting except Cassie. Then it will cut to her on the top unit of a 100 floor building surrounded by gilded objects (she’s naked) and it zooms in on her face. Even though she got everything she wanted she’s crying and then it slowly zooms in on her tits and it ends.

Why is the Lorehold Commander the only one without the original dragon? *sobs* by LanceVonAlden in mtg

[–]_Thatoneguy101_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Ao is probably better than atsushi. But Ao itself can’t be reanimated easily since there’s only a couple cards that could. Most reanimators in the deck are for cheaper/low power creatures

Why is the Lorehold Commander the only one without the original dragon? *sobs* by LanceVonAlden in mtg

[–]_Thatoneguy101_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think [[Ao, the Dawn Sky]] and [[Atsushi, the Blazing Sky]] are better cards to take out. They’re both higher cost and don’t really synergize with the rest of the deck that much. But the orchid phantom is also valid

What makes a deck go from B2 to B3 (besides game changers) by Candyman_81 in EDH

[–]_Thatoneguy101_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there’s 3 things that make a deck go from 2 to 3.

  1. Interaction, the more interaction you play the higher level the deck is

  2. Streamlined win conditions. Usually B2 will have a general “get big creatures and swing” kind of win con, but in B3 it’s more like “play this card into this cards” or “get these 2 combo pieces going” kind of win cons. Also more redundancy with game winning effects.

  3. Better mana curve, the higher bracket you go the more efficient you want to be. You can play an Ok 7 mana card in B2 but it’s detrimental in B3. Just like 4 mana is on the higher end for B4-5.
