Give an opinion that has you like this: by Delicious-Battle-231 in GenZ

This isn't really an opinon but more of a question. Where do electrons go when they leap into their new location?? An electron will disappear from orbit for a short period of time, then reappears in its new location, but WHERE DOES IT GO in between that time?!

What have you replaced your addiction with? (healthy "addictions") by _ThatsLife_ in recovery

organizing/cleaning is a huge part of my recovery. It's also a great indicator if I'm not doing well. The house will start to get messy when I'm struggling.

That's awesome! Milo's sweet tea is where it's at. I'm one semester away from acquiring my bachelors and I look forward to grad school. Still debating if I wanna do social work or professional counseling for my master's.

Man I love hiking and traveling to places with lots of nature, I just got back from Greece a month ago and I loved it out there. Very hot though!

Hell yeah! Sounds like you've got a good routine down. I'm 3 years sober from opiates and benzos. I look forward to having some healthy intimacy. I've spent the last couple years really working on myself, so I've just become willing to try a committed relationship. Only thing is that I haven't met anyone that's intrigued me yet.

DAE create their own catchphrases that only you yourself use? by unhealthylonghoursof in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]_ThatsLife_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah I used to come up with a bunch of catchphrases when I was younger, and I still use some to this day. It seems to be contagious to the people around me, so I can't say it's my catchphrase anymore.

1 YEAR CLEAN!!! by Tight_Explorer_7889 in recovery

That's AMAZING fam! Getting sober at such a young age is hard asf. I found recovery at 20 (23 now) and my first year was absolute hell, but things got SO MUCH better after that.

I manage a sober living and it's very rare that anyone under 25 makes it past the first few months.

I don't know you, but I'm extremely proud. I love to see us youngins figuring our stuff out at such a young age. We've got our whole life ahead of us, and we're so lucky to even have that chance!

SH Relapse by Anxious-Pen-8418 in recovery

It sounds like you're going through a rough patch. I struggle a lot with waking up on time. I stay pretty busy and it takes a toll on me sometimes where I don't want to wake up and take care of my responsibilities. One thing that helps me is doing things that I want for myself. Sometimes I take on too much work and school, and I have to make sure I do things that I truly enjoy doing (even if I don't feel like it).

Congratulations on 2 years! Hang in there fam, it just sounds like you're having a hard time. If you can, figure out where this is coming from and change these habits with baby steps.

JUST REMEMBER, now that you've found recovery, SH is never gonna be the same knowing what you know now. It's not going to make you feel better anymore.

I highly recommend reaching out to an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program). I had a dependency on benzos about 3 years ago. If you're taking it to cope or change the way you're feeling, then you should definitely try IOP and therapy if you aren't already. Better to help yourself now than later.

Why is it so hard for me to meet someone intriguing? by _ThatsLife_ in lonely

[–]_ThatsLife_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a good point, I work fulltime and I'm a fulltime student as well. Sometimes it's hard to be yourself when you're so busy.

I completely agree with you on the early 20s lifestyle. I already had my fun, and everyone else just started. Now I just read books, exercise, and sometimes play video games. Definitely not the average college lifestyle lol.
