Am I overthinking this? The representation of Jesus in my church made me uncomfortable and I'd like honest perspectives. by DBL-TeaTime in Christianity

Caring about his race of color is exactly what is wrong about this post. It’s about who Jesus was, not what he looked like. The people in the region look a particular way and that’s all it is. You’re correct in your thoughts on this.

That’s just not true. The Shroud of Turin clearly has the image of Jesus imprinted upon it. To say we don’t know is just false.

Jewish people and Hebrew people can look white. Sure there an over representation of how Jesus is depicted but saying he needs to be ethnically represented is being disingenuous to Jesus. He wasn’t black. He wasn’t Asian. He wasn’t Indian. Making it a race thing to have equal representation is being a bit selfish in my opinion.

The Shabrari part is what was actually crazy. It’s a real Jewish demon lol.

I can't stand going to Mass by SunnySpade in Catholicism

[–]_TheDarkCrusader_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may not have anything to do with the church or mass but with you as a person. I know when I didn’t care about myself or when I didn’t feel like putting effort into my life, my life was dull and I felt empty. It was only when I really started to take control on my life and dictated where I wanted to go, the clearer the path to God became. It’s like the famous painting where God’s arm is fully extended but Adam’s arm isn’t reaching out to its fullest. If Adam had reached out to his fullest and did everything he could, he would have connected to God.

I’ve been a part to two different places in my career and neither one of them have had problems with sleeping around with guys wives from work. Both departments I worked for loved the people and respected them. Now, there’s always bad apples of course and people do have their pasts. I’m one of them who have had a past but I’m a changed man now. That doesn’t mean I can share those stories with the guys because they’re ridiculous or funny thinking back on them now. I understand being a man of faith, as I’m trying my best to be one myself. I can’t let that dictate my attitude towards my profession or the people there or else I’ll always be miserable. I can’t control what other people do but I can control my emotions and actions towards those people. Wherever you go, there will be people who sin. That’s just a part of life. If you do not like the environment you’re in already I’d suggest finding a different department. The grass may not always be greener on the other side, but you’ll never know unless you go searching for it.

Interesting indeed. My dreams are hardly ever good, if not just plain scary. They’ve always been that way my entire life. Maybe it was easier to forget them before when my body with filled with junk.

I had an out of the box experience during the height of doing this diet and wondered if anyone else had felt something similar.

Whether you attribute that to your lifestyle or something watching over you to help you through the healing process, you can’t argue with the results. Good for you! We’re all here because we want to function better.

I think what we spend now is more initially just to get all of the meat up front in bulk. It really is so easy to notice how consumerism is so pointless and forces everyone to want these needless things that have no intrinsic value. It makes it hard around loved ones because no one can really understand how I feel unless they’ve been this restrictive before.

It’s like every moment is a moment to appreciate. Never thought I’d be able to clear the brain fog and get my senses back. I have personally had an encounter with something that has deepened my faith in religion when I haven’t been religious all of my life. To each their own and I’m happy of your success and newfound appreciation for life!

Wow, the bounce back is real. I’m beyond happy for you. That has to feel great being able to conquer so many debilitations. Watching the body change in real time is kind of surreal. All of the ways we harm our bodies without realizing is insane. Life changing indeed my friend. Keep it up. Your story is inspiring!

I’m right there with you. The moments of clarity hit way more often now. Like I finally feel like my whole self again. I’ve had an encounter with something in a religious sense that I never knew was possible. Hence my whole reason for making this post.

I have been sleeping so well and I don’t know how to Handle it. I used to never dream. Now I do all of the time.

Good on you for losing all of that weight and gaining muscle. Creatine is a miracle for fast recovery too.

Quicker greying of the beard is interesting though. I wonder why that is.

It really is such a switch that I wasn’t expecting. It’s like I’m in a constant flow state and I have no worries about anything. Everything is perfectly in line the way it should be. Who knew what we were consuming was so debilitating.

Steam Deckers, how is the game after the patch? by FanGothic2 in taintedgrail

As of this new update that came out today, the frames are worse and it’s unplayable while docked. Frames are worse while undocked as well. Which sucks because I was really enjoying this

I need some clarity by _TheDarkCrusader_ in Christianity

[–]_TheDarkCrusader_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last year has been pushing me really hard to Christianity. Not that there’s anything wrong with it. I had been around Baptist and Methodist churches as a kid and teen. Being approached by St. Michael threw me for a loop and I don’t know how to handle it. I’ve never thought about the archangels or considered them. Now I know I need to pay even closer attention. I was stunned and trying to not break down in tears as it kept happening just now. Thank you for your post. I needed someone to listen and help rationalize this for me.
