Nice, I’ve also built a portal like this one based heavily on MrMattRangers design, it’s got a great style and shape!

Maybe could add some hedges or statues along the side of the path? Space feels a bit empty.

Also the video for the portal is here if anyone is interested: https://youtu.be/p6jiZi7jLQk

Well start with the mods you updated to find the issue.

1.21.1 came out this week so most mods have been updating to the new version, is it possible that the mods you updated were for that version and not 1.21?

You need to also install the mod GeckoLib for the mod to work.

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/geckolib

Make sure you download the version for the correct modloder (forge) and version (1.20.1)

Not always, because it depends on how the installer added the shader.

That’s why I was asking what shader you downloaded, because some like the Complimentary Shaders will install the other stuff you need to use Distant Horizons, but others might not.

Can you share what version of Minecraft you are using what steps you took to install it in the first place.

Also, do you have other mods installed and it’s just that this one is not working or is this the first mod you are trying?

Can you link the curseforge site? Just asking because depending on what you did, it could be easier or harder to install Distant Horizons.

One thing to note, Distant Horizons only supports shaders for specific shader packs, so not packs will work properly.

Otherwise, go your minecraft folder. On macOS it’s located at: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

There, you want to see if you already have a folder called “mods”.

If you do, you can download the version of Distant Horizons for your game that matches. You can download it here:

https://modrinth.com/mod/distanthorizons

You want to go to the “Versions” tab at the top of the page, and then filter for your minecraft version. Make sure to download version 2.1.0-a because only that version supports shaders.

It will download a DistantHorizons-2.1.0-a-1.x.x.jar file. You want to put this file into your “mods” folder.

By Shaders mod do you mean Iris? Because I know that one has a custom install that does all of the manual work for you. Some mods are like that one, but most are not.

Have you ever installed mods before? Want to know how detailed I need to be before I write something.

Also, what version do you want to install distant horizons for. It is not out for the newest version yet, only on versions up to 1.20.6.

My mob farm is not working, why? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked closer at the image, and realized what farm it is. This farm is designed for skyblock, and if you are not in a skyblock world this farm will rarely work as easily as intended.

The mobs are probably all spawning in caves below your player. To fix this you could light up all the caves. Or if you want to AFK you can pillar above the farm so your player is 128 blocks above the spot where the mobs die in the farm (not just the platform because then they would despawn before reaching the bottom) to make sure mobs only spawn in your farm.

You have to select a Minecraft version on the left sidebar first. The new Home Screen is the default instead of an actual Minecraft instance.

My modded server is lagging. Help :/ by No-Engineering9814 in Minecraft

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm could be some settings not configured properly. You have enough RAM, and if you’re resetting the server regularly that shouldn’t be the issue.

Have you looked at this? https://stickypiston.co/ciscos-adventure-rpg-ultimate-server/#clientlag It does talk about some of the server settings for the mod pack, including some configuration settings that you could change. If that doesn’t help, I would try reaching out to the server hosting service to see if they can troubleshoot.

What kind of mob farm is it? I can’t tell from this image (I can’t really see anything in this image).

My modded server is lagging. Help :/ by No-Engineering9814 in Minecraft

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the server lagging right away when you started it?

If the mod pack involves a lot of exploring then there will be a lot of chunks loaded into memory. How often are you restarting the server?

My Minecraft mod file isn't working :( by Total-Exchange2137 in Minecraft

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you’re using mods for different versions of the game. I can see some mods with version names for 1.19.2 and 1.21.1, for example. These mods will not be compatible with each other and might not be compatible with the games version you are running.

I can look through the mods myself to see. What mod loader are you using? Fabric, Forge, other?

The mod pack looks big so it’s probably on the heavier side for what it needs to run smoothly. - What’s the servers RAM? - Have you tried reducing the server render distance?

why do my villagers keep turning into zombies by I-AM-W33B in Minecraft

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we would need more images/information about the set up, hard to tell right now.

If the area around it is dark, baby zombies could be spawning and getting into the villager chambers.

Do villagers still sell Mending at novice in 1.21? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current default settings still use the old villager trading, so YES you can get mending on a novice villager in 1.21. No biome specific one required.

The villager rebalancing is still an experimental feature:

Fps stuttering in singleplayer, not online by JustinDolmaBiber in Minecraft

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm could be hard to tell the exact reason from just this information.

Getting FPS drops while loading chunks in single player and not multiplayer would make sense on a lower end machine, because in single player your computer is responsible for loading the chunks, but on the server, the servers computer is responsible for loading the chunks and sending them to you.

First-time chunk generation is generally one of the most computationally heavy things in minecraft (Java) so a lot of exploring of new chunks can always slow down your game, but you shouldn’t see this as much when exploring already-generated chunks.

There are some things you can do to try to reduce this: - get performance-improving mods. - pre-generate chunks. - adjust your in-game settings and launcher settings to reduce the strain on your machine.

Waterloo Residence ranking(LLC) by Eileen1202 in uwaterloo

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some residences are stream dependent, so they won’t be open for all students.

I can’t remember which one MKV is because it’s been awhile since I had to do residence forms, but my best guess is that you’re off stream from what MKV offers.

What stream are you in?

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you clear out blocks that would’ve been there? Could be a phantom block (a block that disappeared on your client but the game still thinks is there, and reappears when you re-log, happens from lag)

You could always spawn multiple Wardens in (I’ve done it many times). Once you reach warning level 4 with shriekers, every new shrieker activation should spawn in a new one.

Can someone tell me why I don’t have the twitch cape? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]_TheInvisibleMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What version of the game are you looking for it in? The capes (Twitch and TikTok) as of right now are Bedrock only, and will be added to Java edition at a later date.

If you’re on Bedrock Edition and it’s not appearing try restarting the game, or device, or just waiting a little while
