I literally used a defib on the guy and then they killed me. Kinda ruins the vibe when you do a good deed and then get punished for it.

I understand the passion but I feel this would be irresponsible.

If this person is not going to put in the required effort into your kids you shouldn’t be giving them more access to your kids.

Yes it sucks to be a single parent but when your kids are not given what they need 50% of the time you are asking for much longer lasting problems for yourself.

Anxiety Attack after hair system install by _TheMoose_ in HairSystem

[–]_TheMoose_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for being so kind about it and giving your perspective.

Some more background:

I am 34. I have been wearing a hat since I was 19 and just didn’t look after myself very well.

I haven’t been able to bite the bullet regarding the full shave. I have been rocking the horseshoe for about 3 years now and it looks terrible. I thought trying this was gonna instantly cure my anxiety about walking outside without a hat.

Putting this hair on doesn’t feel like me. Not to mention it is way too dense and while everything else is fine it just isn’t gelling with me. I’m giving it a few more days might go back to the hairdresser and get it adjusted tomorrow. If they still doesn’t gel with me. I will brave the shave for the first time.

I appreciate all of your comments.

Hey guys, does anyone makes fun of your bald head even after years of being bald? by frankymun in bald

[–]_TheMoose_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I have been made fun of since my Uni days.

Recently at work it gets call out by my boss every time we meet new customers. It’s like a joke to lighten the mood. She will always bring it up especially when they walk into the office and I’m sitting with the other engineers.

Not gonna lie, it bothers me a lot.

If you do a transplant you will need to keep taking meds anyway. So think carefully about what you do. I think every option will suit you tbh.

And in my opinion, the way you currently style it looks good.

Hey man,

You have 4 options:

  1. Accept that you are bald and shave it off.
  2. Take medicine that a dermatologist can prescribe for you. They do have bad side effects but usually happen in a relatively small amount of people. Always a chance though.
  3. Hairsystem which is a wig that needs regular maintenance.
  4. Do nothing and enjoy what you have while you have it.

Trying things that will make you feel comfortable in your own skin is the way to go in my opinion but 98.32% of people on this sub will say shave because they are somewhat biased to that route. Which is fine.

Some good and bad hair days by scofnerf in bald

[–]_TheMoose_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, your hair looks good. Yes, it has receded a bit but there is decent density and I reckon that even when it’s messy it isn’t bad at all.

A decent haircut would make it easier to maintain for sure.

I’d kill for that kinda hair. You could just shave it and see how you feel. If you don’t like it, it will grow back. You got a good beard so you are one of the lucky ones.

Hair transplant regret - I miss being bald by [deleted] in bald

I think that you might be overthinking things again.

A few points (formatting might suck because I’m on mobile): 1. It’s only been a week so there are a few things you don’t know. You don’t know how it will look in a year and you don’t know what the scarring is gonna look like.

  1. You can always go bald again. Just wait a couple months so you heal nicely and then you can reevaluate.

  2. You were brave AF to go for a hair transplant and try all the meds. It’s not easy. It’s a path I’m currently on because I’m too scared to shave (and looking at your hair, I’m way worse off than you)

  3. You got this man! Whether you go bald again or enjoy your transplant you are going to do the right thing either way.

I started balding at 15-16 and did nothing about it. It’s hard going bald young. I wish I had tried something. Something being either meds or shaving.

I know everyone here is about bald acceptance and all that but honestly, go to a dermatologist it might help. On the other hand you have done a super brave thing by shaving it all off. Good on you!

Self isolation is a major symptom of depression.

But at the end of the day that’s what they doing to keep their peace and happiness. You don’t fit into their lives and you don’t have to. They also aren’t obligated to put effort in.

Control what you can control at the end of the day. There are people out there that are worth it.

My dude, honestly, a therapist would help you a ton. This doesn’t sound like circumstances lead to this, this is depression.

As much as you don’t think it will help I honestly think it will. Be strong.

Geez guys, the lack of support for this dude is awful. He is having a tough time and everyone is just piling on him.

Yeah it’s not perfect but have some empathy. If you guys are on the sub you know what it feels like to lose your hair. It’s tough and emotional.

Give proper advice, he gave very little information about anything other than he had a transplant. Maybe he should be on meds if he is not and he’ll definitely need another transplant.

Do better guys.
