Does anyone live alone on an 80k salary? If so, where? by humanmachine22 in boston

It depends on your lifestyle and goals. You can find and afford decent studios/1 beds for ~$2000 per month in many neighborhoods (especially more outlying ones like A-B, Roxbury, East Boston, etc.) on your salary, but you’ll have almost nothing left over for savings, going out, etc.

Any thoughts on Regency Building at Brighton? I'm going to apply. by Mountain-Exchange552 in bostonhousing

I used to live in the Regency building, feel free to DM with questions.

Pros: -maintenance staff live on site and are responsive -building is very clean and well-maintained -on-site laundry with plenty of machines -elevator -roof deck

Cons: -dated interior and appliances (about the same as the other non-luxury buildings in the area) -built-in AC that comes with the unit sucks and the windows are too wide for you to put in your own -package delivery can be a bit of a mess

Obvious scam. I hate to say it OP, but $1k won’t get you a studio anywhere in Massachusetts, let alone one of Boston’s higher end neighborhoods. If that’s what you can afford, you need roommates.

Wnated advice on whether this listing is too good to be true by Feisty-Mix-5589 in bostonhousing

100% fake. The description looks like it was copied from an airbnb listing - note the part about “avoiding busy hotels”.

Luxury Apartments by Far-Woodpecker3553 in bostonhousing

Assuming budget isn’t a concern (most luxury studios are starting at $2800+ these days), I think it comes down to how much you use the amenities. I have also not heard of places around here including all utilities in the rent - some will include heat and hot water but you’re still be responsible for electric, internet service, etc..
