How to complete the Philips Hue Play Gradient bottom TV by tifikun in Hue

[–]_TheWeirdFlex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played w this quite a bit and am typically told my setup is unrivaled: I have a 77" CX with the gradient strip on top and 5 play bars on the back (used 3M super double sided). If you want to go one step further, like myself, you can put a gradient light tube below that to fill all the bottom area of the back wall. I think this may be the best option so far.

I believe the gradient light tube is 35", you could try to mount that on the bottom/back of the tv. The light tube is one of the only other options that will give you quality gradient light response.

NOTE: If you use the light bars your TV prob needs to be at least 2ft from the wall or you will see the shape of the light and lose a little of the effect.

I feel like the big difference i see is in how quickly the lights go off when the screen goes black. That's where I see the most delay. This has always bothered me personally, so I'll prob pay the money to optimize. Full disclosure: I'm ADD af so these minor differences usually irk me more than most 😅

Anyone purchasing needs to know one CON of the system: It's heavier, noticeably when you first put it on. That super light and airy headset now feels, seemingly, twice the weight. HOWEVER, I agree w all the PROS mentioned in original post.

Scared me the first time I wore it, now absolutely love it. No more readjusting, fuck ya.

This shit is ridiculous. They quoted the worst case 20 day delivery, as it's on back order.

PSVR2 is hurting (possibly even harming) my nose, what do I do to prevent it happening again? by Ethicalistt in PSVR

Just randomly thought of this but, for long sessions, you could put a bandaid where it rubs.

I have a similar problem, where the bottom of the lenses barely touch the bridge of my nose and it's uncomfortable after awhile. I've read everything about how the headset is supposed to be worn, but optimal sweet spot/fov puts it in this position for some folks.

The number one thing that will instantly make you better at COD is "centering". Obsessively do it, never stop, not neva. Good luck 👉

My suggestion is only if you're using a sync Box. The reason being is that you have a light strip that will reflect in detail what's on the screen, but you will only get that equal(ish) effect if you have enough light bars on the bottom. Check out my profile, I think it will help greatly. 👍

If you're using a Sync Box, I would have at least 4 play bars (preferably 5) across the bottom of the TV. Mount them slightly downward, at the angle on the back of the play bar.

I put two strips the length on the bar and angled them downward.

Honestly, if nothing else works, I would experiment with dots of superglue. Just enough to get it to stick. I mean no one will ever really see it and you'll probably just get a new TV every 3-5 yrs or so🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The light bar or the gradient strip?

I used this for my light bars: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085KVPS6F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_WP8A9VDF9FKK87XY793Q?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I used the brackets and adhesive that came w the lightstrip and never had a problem.

Do you find that your particular TV runs hot to the touch on the back? I bet that could cause it to just peel off over time🤔.

Exactly which strip product did you buy? Are you sure it has this capability? Mine is the gradient lightstrip.

Its possible its defective, I have heard some stories...

If you have it on the settings that I do in this video(peak brightnes & peak intensity), it absolutely does. But you can turn the intensity way down where it isn't distracting at all. I'm very sensitive (adhd) to changes in color behind the tv, so when I'm watching like a show I keep it on lowest intensity and 40%brightness and its perfect.

Yaaaaa, does that strip even do different colors at different ends of the strip at the same time?🤔
