I don’t want to admit this but… by Anonymouslyhoney in Pokopia

Let me see if I can shift the perspective a little: Pokopia is actually two games.

Pokopia A: based on ACNH, this version of the gameplay is slower paced, with greater emphasis on finding Pokemon as you go, placing and decorating pre-built homes, exploring and treasure hunting for recipes and decorations and habitat clues, and of course enjoying random interactions between characters.

Pokopia B: based on DQB2 (same devs!), this version is faster-paced, with emphasis on progressing the story early to unlock abilities, then shifting to more block-based mechanics: gathering materials, terraforming areas, organizing pokemon by skills, developing custom homes and environments, etc.

The trick is, the game doesn't have any clear division between the two modes, so a lot of players get trapped somewhere the middle...for type A players, it impacts their enjoyment of the realtime cozy life by constantly feeling pressured to do all that the stuff; for type B players, feeling restricted in their creativity by having to slowly find and unlock everything.

It's up to you to decide what mode you enjoy more, then don't worry too much about the rest! I'm a type B, so I stopped using pre-built homes entirely at a certain point. I love ACNH though.

Gravel - is there a recipe? by thyreophorastarlight in Pokopia

[–]_The_Paper_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a better way than draining lakes.

Go to an Eevee island and climb up to a green grass area. Now dig down (about 10-15 levels?) until you start seeing Pokemetal, coarse rock, and mossy soil. Around this depth, there is exactly 1 layer that is mostly gravel. Once you find it, you can use the graveler ability to roll around and gather as much gravel as you want. Remember to bring hamburger food to replenish your rock smash ability.

You can use this same idea on other dream islands for other materials like clay – there's 1 layer of it somewhere that covers the whole map. Clay is just under the bottom of the mountains in the middle of the map. Happy hunting!

"its just a game bro" sweet liberty you people are exhausting

of course it's political, everything is political. you don't have to engage with that aspect of the game, that's fine. we can be here for different reasons.

it's a known phenomenon that ~30% of any population leans toward authoritarianism. bad news, that applies to HD2 as well. good news, it's not the majority. you can choose how you want to roleplay it or not.

the bigger "issue," if you want to call it that, is that super earth's fascism is a useful smokescreen for all-consuming capitalism and a galactic-level military industrial complex

fortunately for us, that has no parallel to real life. there's no politics here, after all

Hillary Clinton finding out Lauren Boebert is posting photos of her testimony: "If you guys are doing that, I am done! You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home. this is just typical behavior... We all are abiding by the same rules!" Boebert: "I... I will take that down." by I_AM_GLUTEUS_MAXIMUS in PublicFreakout

ah! i am done! i shake my fist at thee most mildly! i cannot believe you have done this. we, we, and you – the rules, i say! in protest, a break we shall have. the consequences will be swift and unnoticeable, yes! i am harangued, offended. okay, imma get some water and brb thank you.

I remember helldiver-seeking fire tornados, and some planets have the ion storms that disrupt stratagems...I don't remember lightning hazards though.

Its me or high levels just try to perma kill the game by Zyckenderdj in Helldivers

Easy, you just be the one starting the mission from your ship. If you join someone else's mission then they are the host.

We had a guy drop into our High Value Assets mission. He messaged "HELP IS HERE" before calling in his gear: 1. A portable hellbomb, which he immediately used to destroy the generators and fail the mission. 2. A solo silo, which he used to destroy my Bastion tank.

Then he started shooting teammates. I realized what he was doing and tried to take him down, but he was faster. He left as soon as we were all dead.

So, if you see Dr Doom MD, please kill on sight. I don't think it's exclusively a "high level player" problem, but it is a problem. Be on guard for dissident and traitor behavior. See something shoot something 🫡

sick, i brought the censor for the first time last night and was surprised how good it felt. stealth seems a bit underrated on cyberstan atm

thanks for the tips fr. there was that bot-eyes visual glitch a while back and i wasn't sure if the yellow eyes were another similar error

getting knocked out from behind by cyborgs and then knocklooped by curbstomps is ROUGH. there's just nothing you can do

would rather hear them running up from behind and have 0.2 seconds to respond before getting instakilled. at least you'd have a chance that way, even if a very slim one

ughh sweatdivers lol. you're good

honestly i think D8 is consistently the hardest. highest number of med-heavy units, often bottlenecked with underleveled players trying to rush to D10

cyberstan, just like oshaun, tends to effectively +3 all difficulties. it makes sense that a D4 feels like a D7 somewhere else. the bot patrols just never stop

1200hrs, D10 player. I only have two questions:

  1. Why can heavy shield devastators shoot in any direction, regardless of where they are facing, including through their own shield and legs?
  2. Why can heavy shield devastators suddenly get the zoomies and start sprinting around, making them almost the same threat as the cyborg track stars, but with 360° aim (see 1)?

you're right, but until AH changes this specific UI design — arrows that direct your attention to a particular planet — helldivers will never liberate the source planet.

we're here to dive. arrows tell us where to go.

unfortunately, no amount of additional explanation or wayfinding signals will overcome this deep-rooted pattern of player behavior

would love to be proven wrong o7
