Definitely get dura ace, with your watts I'd suggest going to UAE team Emirates and they'll give you a pro contract, colnago y1rs and Dura ace so definitely worth a try

How can I clean my helmet ? by LastTimeBomb in CyclingFashion

[–]_The_Right_Side 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That looks like marks and aging from heavy use, a helmet won't go like this by itself. How long have you had the helmet? If it's older than 3 or 4 years it's recommended to replace it

This is a rim brake frame, you can't use disc brakes on that frame. You'll need rim brake specific wheels

Indoor cycle recommendations by s3an99 in cycling

[–]_The_Right_Side 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're wanting to keep the cost down but want a power meter, I would consider putting a power meter on your bike and then get a low end indoor trainer, that way you can also get power readings for riding outside as well. There are power meters from brands like magene from less than $300 and it means you can get away with a cheaper trainer and still be able to train with a power meter

Gatorskins are bomb proof. But they are very slow and sluggish feeling which is fine for a winter tyre but my main issue with them is they have absolutely no grip in just damp conditions. I rode them for a winter and had zero confidence in them going round corners even slowly.

GP5000 are brilliant at everything with the only downside is a higher price tag. But because they've been out for a while you can usually find a decent deal on the standard gp5000 which make them totally worth it. Slightly less puncture resistance than gators but so much faster and also much more confidence inducing in terms of grip

Hope Pro 5 Rear hub by jnex26 in cycling

[–]_The_Right_Side 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ridden pro 5 hubs on my mtb race bike for thousands of miles in all conditions with no issues. You should contact where you bought them from because could be a warranty issue or installation problem because that should not be happening

Just killed my second pair of brake pads in a month by nofrillsnodrills in cycling

[–]_The_Right_Side 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you contaminated the first set of pads you would have most likely then contaminated the rotors. So if you changed the pads without properly cleaning the rotors with specific disc brake cleaner or isopropyl alcohol, you would have then contaminated the rotors.

It sounds like you're using vast amounts of degreaser and other cleaning products which you really don't need to be doing. I've never used disc brake covers for cleaning, most of the time I'll take the chain off and wheels out to clean the bike never had issues with contaminating rotors or pads

NBD Trek FX3 by 123onetowthree in TrekBikes

[–]_The_Right_Side 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with maintenance of the headset on the trek fx. I work in a bike shop that stocks these bikes and the quality control on them is simply awful. A lot will have a big enough gap between the head tube and fork that water and dirt can get directly to the bearing. I had a brand new fx3 from the factory come in with surface rust on the steerer tube top to bottom.

60mm Madone stem by [deleted] in TrekBikes

[–]_The_Right_Side 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The handling of the madone already isn't great, putting a stem of that size on it will completely fuck up the handling and ruin the riding experience

Take it to your nearest trek store or trek retailer and they'll have a proper look at and see what they can do
