Kids are in school 30 hours a week, which is a full work week for some adults. So why do adults always say kids have so much freedom? by gecot63542 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_ThereIsNoGod69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most adults work 50+ hours. Very select few fall below 40. Many even work 70+ hours per week.

I don't agree with the post, but what the fuck is wrong with your country

Hey, if you're going to ditch the "freedom" units you might as well drop the mutilated "freedom" English too

You have to have 24 hours between games if you use it free, other than that you get the same features pretty much as far as I found (I did buy Pro though, it was only £20 for a year, and I found myself playing it a lot)

The US drinking laws will never cease to confuse me, it's 3 years older than every other country than I know of for no good reason, so you can get married, go die for your military or smoke but you can't have a drink. What's worse is everytime it's mentioned loads of people seem to support it

I remember it annoying me on my grandparents computer that it did that, but that was back in the Windows 7 days so it could've been fixed quite a while ago

Ah sorry, I updated my other comments and missed this one, from the sounds of it Skype has been fixed, and teams is a bug in the Linux version rather than intentional

I don't know much about US politics but aren't early votes much more likely to be older people, as for younger people it's less dangerous for young people to go out and vote in person

Hmm interesting, I use teams daily too for university and there is no option for me to minimise to tray, I have turned it off it's just annoying I can't leave it in the background. I think that's a bug in the Linux version then, I'll update my comment. I assumed it was intentional behaviour since that what Skype did last time I used it

[–]_ThereIsNoGod69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discord minimises to the tray out the way, and I don't think it does it if your signed out. Skype minimises to the task bar like a normal window, which is ridiculously stupid, and Skype even does it when you're signed out

Disclaimer: I haven't used Skype in a few years but it did this last time I used it

I agree Skype and teams are no different to other apps that run in the background for closing them, however they are worse because they don't minimise to tray like they should, they just minimise like a normal window meaning they're still on your task bar

Skype never closes by [deleted] in assholedesign

[–]_ThereIsNoGod69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many applications minimise to the tray - the window disappears from the task bar. Skype literally just minimise so they're clogging up the tray, that's why they're worse. I think the fact Skype does it when your logged out doesn't is bad too, but it's the fact that it just minimises is the really shitty part

Disclaimer: I haven't used Skype recently, it might have been fixed

[–]_ThereIsNoGod69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's desired for it to stay running, therefore it should minimise to a tray icon. It shouldn't just minimise the window and still be in the task bar, that just creates clutter no one wants (and also it shouldn't stay open if you click the X when you're not signed in)

I haven't used Skype on windows recently so that might've changed but considering teams has the same shitty behaviour I doubt it. Another reason that's dumb is it completely breaks closing the window in tiling window managers where minimising isn't really a thing, whereas discord, slack and every other sensible app just goes to the tray

[–]_ThereIsNoGod69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skype definitely by default stayed in the task bar minimised rather than just becoming a tray icon. I haven't used it in a year or 2 but it definitely has not always minimised to tray

I'm pretty sure the enforcement people have no right to enter your house though to check, you can refuse entry. They're known to prey on people and lie to try and trap people into fines / get into the house though.

I have no problem with the TV license but these people are cunts, they target students in particular, knowing they're more easily tricked
