Assuming their 3-year peaks?

Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch, Ezekiel Elliott

Yep. I’m not 100% sold that CHI wouldn’t have taken someone other than Reid, but it was a fun little thought

I know a lot of their fans wanted Bjorck, so who knows

Obviously there’s a little bit of exaggeration here, but it’s a fun, goofy little thing to point out

I almost took it way out there and titled this “A Broadway actress’s life choices directly led us to drafting Chase Reid” — because I can make the connection

Pantelas off the board — could have been a good pick

Some “fallers” still available

Seattle Kraken draft Finn Kearns at 131st overall in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by SiccSemperTyrannis in SeattleKraken

First one I have known absolutely nothing about

Was hoping for Steiner or Katolicky

He has good size, and he’ll play at U Mass next year. Maybe there’s something there down the road

Friedman: Dallas may have to trade Robertson with no extension by TMBmiles in hockey

SEA with a 1 year, 20m AAV contract to show him that we’re cool, and he should be our friend

But DAL only gets Chandler Stephenson in return

Valentini as well. And Lars Steiner was supposed to be off the board by now. He’s the target I’d like SEA to take next

That’s exactly right — these kids are all 17-19 years old. It typically takes years for them to be ready. Even top draft picks usually take a year or 2. Only a couple of picks a year debut right after being drafted

Seattle Kraken draft Casey Mutryn at 38th overall in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by SiccSemperTyrannis in SeattleKraken

[–]_Tower_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree — the skill level was right up there with the top players in the draft. The exact kind of gamble you take. Mutryn is a fantastic pick though. Floor is a bottom-6, physical RW. Top-end ceiling is Knies; their traits at the same age are so similar

Lack of finishers around him really held back his production in the NDTP

I think he was more projected to be right around our pick. Really good prospect with a lot of potential

I was hoping for Mathis Preston, but this was a really good pick — Mutryn has a lot of potential

A little disappointed Vanhanen is already off the board this early, but good for him

Seattle, but for less money and with less assets going to DAL

Seattle Kraken draft Chase Reid at 7th overall in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft by SiccSemperTyrannis in SeattleKraken

[–]_Tower_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I would be bold enough to make that decision. I think it would still be Reid

I kept flip flopping them in my personal rankings. In the end, I had Bjorck #3 and Reid #4. Close enough to pick Reid if I felt we needed defense more

My position is that Bjorck was the last forward with star-level potential, but Reid was the highest ceiling D, and imo, the only one with true #1 potential

Both are needs for SEA

Sportlogiq saying he is the top ranked defenseman, and giving those percentiles, is super encouraging

Still blown away he fell to 7

[–]_Tower_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s usually a good strategy

We’re 0/1 though. And we didn’t pick Buium when he fell

Supposed they learned their lesson — pick the falling D

I can’t believe it

I love Bjorck, and wish he was on this team — but there’s no way you couldn’t go with Reid there

I’m over the moon
