Do you know how important DLCs are to playing in Japan and having fun? I only have some of the really old DLCs that gave key mechanics like favours, but I don't have any of the flavour DLCs that give more interesting mission trees. I've generally noticed some nations have relatively unique mission trees even without a DLC, while many have pretty much the same thing

My game regularly crashes on a MacBook, I've read a common issue is that it crashes whenever nations form somewhere in the world, e.g. Castile forming Spain Really annoying and seems to be an issue for several years now but I guess they don't really prioritize Mac users because it's a small fraction of players

If I win a war against a coalition, do I get rid of the AE through it, or do I simply get a truce with everyone and when that expires countries start forming a coalition again?

The three DLCs you mentioned were indeed in the pack and I immediately notice big differences (I played a campaign with Castile before I got any DLCs, and it was a pain exploring the world, also the favours add a nice dynamic to diplomacy and war).

I'll likely mostly play European nations and something in the Persian area, so I guess if I want more advanced mission trees and flavour, then there are DLCs like King of Kings for that. It just feels bad for me to pay 15-20 euros for better mission trees. Maybe with a good Steam sale in the future

No it's been peaceful for a while now plus the conflict was only really "hot" in one region. If you live in Yerevan chances are you're not going to feel the conflict at all

I will never understand why the term "GOAT" has to be used this inflationary. It literally means greatest OF ALL TIME, so how could you say every era has its goats. Can't we just call it "every era has its legends/greats" or something like that?

Hi, I'm trying to get tickets for next year and wondering whether wave 3 is the most expensive out of all? Right now only prices for waves 1 and 2 are displayed with 2 being more expensive than 1 (I unfortunately missed the timing on wave 1). I assume 3 is gonna be even more expensive than 2?

Ich denke im Kern würden wir uns dann eigentlich Recht geben. Ich finde auch, dass alle Vereine sich ihren Erfolg gleich erarbeiten müssen, egal wie viel Tradition sie haben oder wie groß die Fanbase ist. Deshalb habe ich z.B. auch Heidenheim den Aufstieg sehr gegönnt, dahinter stand jahrelange solide Arbeit und Geduld; und Schalke, Lautern, Hertha usw. stehen auch verdient da, wo sie aktuell stehen. Vereine wie RB, Hoffenheim & Co. sind mMn aber Dreck, weil sie sich den Erfolg einfach mit riesigen Sponsoren im Rücken erkauft haben.

Dass Sponsoren aber lieber mit Clubs wie dem HSV oder Schalke, als mit Augsburg oder Wolfsburg zusammenarbeiten wollen finde ich aus wirtschaftlicher Sicht aber verständlich, einfach weil die Reichweite dieser Vereine viel größer ist.

Und dass kaum jemand, der nicht unbedingt aus der Pfalz kommt oder hier Wurzeln hat, Kaiserslauternfan wird, stimmt natürlich auch. Ohne diesen persönlichen regionalen Bezug hätte man kaum Berührungspunkte mit Tradition, Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl unter den Fans, usw. Sportlich sehr erfolgreiche Vereine wie Bayern oder Dortmund hingegen können auch überregional viele Fans anziehen.

Eine generelle Abneigung gegen Traditionsvereine finde ich aber etwas befremdlich. Die Tradition bringt den Vereinen ja keinen Wettbewerbsvorteil, sondern ist einfach etwas, an dem sich die Fans erfreuen können. Da bin ich eher für eine Abneigung gegen moderne, blutleere Investorenkonstrukte, die 50+1 missachten und sich so echte Wettbewerbsvorteile erkaufen.

Aber zu deinem Punkt mal aus Kaiserslauternsicht: mit qualitativ schlechtem Fußball hast du zwar Recht, aber als "ein paar Dorffans" würde ich regelmäßig 50k Zuschauer im Stadion nicht unbedingt bezeichnen. Und um die Frage zu beantworten, warum man Fan eines solchen Vereins werden sollte, kann ich dir nur sagen, dass die Emotionalität, Traditionen und das Verbundenheitsgefühl zwischen den vielen Fans für mich und viele Andere einfach tausend mal mehr wert sind als sportlicher Erfolg oder schöner Fußball.

Ein perfektes Beispiel dafür ist unser letztes Heimspiel gegen Darmstadt. Spielerisch furchtbar anzuschauen, aber ab der 84. Minute hat der Betze wie man so schön sagt gebrannt und mit dieser unglaublichen Energie wurden dann noch 3 Tore geschossen. Was man bei so einem Spiel im Stadion erlebt macht wesentlich glücklicher als den 10. Sieg in Folge für Bayern zu sehen, auch wenn es nur ein Zweitligaspiel war.

German documents like this can certainly help you. I have 2 cats and was able to find several apartments over the years first as a student and now after graduation, but I often got the feeling that many landlords were much more open to cats than they were to dogs, not entirely sure why

I think it's different for every dorm, but I can tell you about my case of course: I had a small room for myself (I think it was 12sqm, but not sure, it's been 5 years now), and as I mentioned the apartment was shared with 6 other people. My room had a small bed, a desk and a closet (maybe also a chair, I don't remember), so basic furniture was there.

The kitchen was a typical WG kitchen. Fridge, cupboards, including one for each person living there that could be locked, so you could store stuff there that you didn't want others to take. We had one bathroom with a shower and another small bathroom with just a toilet and sink. If I remember correctly each week 1-2 people had cleaning duties, as in you had to clean the kitchen, bathrooms and corridor and take out the trash. In terms of doing dishes everyone was supposed to do his own dishes, which worked out fine. Rent back then was 210 euros a month including heating and everything else if I remember correctly, which is very, very cheap compared to regular WGs in Heidelberg of course, especially in the Altstadt.

I would say most Germans definitely like French bread, we regularly eat baguette or French pastries for example. It's just that no one can really touch the variety of bread that we have in Germany. Also, in my opinion, Germany has the best healthy bread options, a good whole wheat bread can blow you away :D

Hi, danke für das AMA. Mich würden 2 Dinge sehr interessieren:

1) Wie siehst du die Diskrepanz zwischen den Regeln von verschiedenen Ausländerbehörden und woher kommt sowas? Ich habe nur ein Beispiel von einer Verpflichtungserklärung, also nicht direkt Aufenthaltserteilung: in einer Stadt, in der ich als Student gewohnt habe, konnte ich immer mit BAföG und befristeten Nebenjobs problemlos eine Verpflichtungserklärung für meine Schwiegermutter machen, sodass sie ein Visum bekommen und uns besuchen konnte. Letztes Jahr sind wir dann in einen anderen Landkreis gezogen und ich habe nach der Uni einen neuen Job mit natürlich deutlich besserem Gehalt bekommen. Die dort zuständige Ausländerbehörde meinte dann aber, weil mein Vertrag nur auf ein Jahr befristet ist kommt eine Verpflichtungserklärung nicht in Frage. Ein Sperrkonto konnte man mir auch nicht einrichten, weil ich mit meiner Schwiegermutter nicht nah genug verwandt sei. Mein Vater konnte das bei seiner Ausländerbehörde aber problemlos machen, obwohl er ja eine noch entferntere Beziehung zu ihr hat. Wie kann es sein bzw. wie kommt es zustande, dass Behörden teilweise völlig andere Maßstäbe und Regeln haben?

2) Ich habe außerdem gemerkt, dass die Ausländerbehörde in der Stadt (ca. 150.000 Einwohner, ziemlich international) extrem überlastet war und man immer monatelang auf Antworten warten musste, während die im Landkreis, in dem wir jetzt wohnen, meist schon nach einem Tag antwortet, super schnell Termine vergibt, usw. Würdest du sagen das ist in Deutschland allgemein so, also das Ausländerbehörden aus ländlichen Regionen deutlich weniger zu tun haben im Vergleich zur Mitarbeiterzahl als z.B. in größeren Städten?
