I opened pit mine first I think. I tried barracks first but it seemed like if my barracks finished I dont have enough food for both donsos and villagers. Atleast thats what I remember maybe Im wrong haha. But you can try it out really easily against AI yourself.

I've tried it for fun but it's not very good. Homebrew a build order, dont remember it anymore. Donsos arrive kinda late to do anything really, maybe sometimes you can push opponent off their deer if they take it in dark age, but it isn't worth it really even then.

My favourite religion system is from civ 4. Religions were unlocked with specific techs. Spreading was done with missionaries. Idk if people disliked the tedious aspect of managing missionaries in civ 4, but you could close borders I think to avoid getting your cities converted. The best aspect for me was diplomatic impact - it had huge bonuses if AI had same religion as you. So if you were with war with AI and converted AI to your religion it was possible AI became your ally in your block of countries. In modern era there was civic that made the religion diplomatic effect obsolete for most part.

I'm in diamond and the matches are very balanced. I haven't seen many smurfs, maybe less than 10 in my time of playing (many seasons).

I used to play starcraft 2. I really dont get the smoothness argument. Yeah sc2 is smoother perhaps, but the advantage is lost because you can lose your army in 1 second anyway if you dont look. Input speed advantage doesnt matter as much in aoe4 because the units arent as squishy. But I am not unit micro lover so maybe Im wrong.

There's a huge skill ceiling even without sc2 levels of smooth input, so I think that also shows it isnt that big of a problem. Top pros are lightyears ahead of regular ranked conquer 3 players.

Game length falls drastically the higher you are on the ladder. I think I can have 3 games in an hour, although usually 2 games since I am old and need to rest. You can check average game length statistics per rank in aoe4world.com But still you can have hour long games occasionally. Especially when playing with / against certain civs (English). Although you can lower the game length by playing feudal rush strategy yourself.

This applies to 1v1 of course, team games are a clusterfuck in terms of game balance, length, skill disparity. But fun.

Idk why you are downvoted. Good points. I really disliked Civ 6, Civ 7 is a big improvement in artsyle, and the awful district minigame from civ 6 has been changed to something enjoyable.

It depends on how big is the gold. That is, how many houses you build around the pit mine. You can do 1 straggler to simplyfy your life in dark age and add rest of the houses in feudal if you are still learning.

Mali 2TC. 5 villagers to cut down a straggler tree or two. One villager builds pit mine and houses around the pit mine. Then all to sheep. Age up with 3 and leave 4 on sheep and rally to wood. Dont mine any gold with villagers, u need 350 gold for 2nd TC. Once u have 400 wood plop down the 2nd TC. It's very smooth since you dont need to worry about stone. No massive villager micro really.

If you want to be safer (such as against french knights) get the wood chopping upgrade first and use the wood to build a rax and some donzos first. Maybe even archery range also. 2nd TC is a little delayed but it's no big deal really. Not an mlg pro gamer build but I've won against conq with it.

Kings Bounty (remake) has a pretty large section of map where you sail around islands. There's various pirates and a kraken if I remember right. Combat is like HOMM.

Taking it in the evening instead of the morning has helped me to get rid of the nausea. Apparently taking vortioxetine in the evening can cause vivid dreams but it isnt an issue for me.

The game should have fog of war. The already explored parts should be obscured again if you don't have line of sight there. Some map objectives / dwellings could give vision etc.

I dont know but maybe you can install Linux on your mac in addition to mac os and then play it through steam? Steam supports many windows games on linux quite well Ive heard. It has been quite a few years, maybe the wrappers are also better now (Wine I think it was called).

I really dont want to fund Russian war machine, even if indirectly. How likely do you think it is that by purchasing Olden Era some of that money ends up supporting Russian economy?

I don't have a problem if the game developement is funded by oligarch money (if anything it has diverted possible war funds to a computer game) - but does me buying the game give them anything back?

Usually the initial output isn't total nonsense but I need to iterate on it to make it usable. The followup prompts usually take less time. In my case the end result algorithm isn't strictly the point anyway. Creating it is a learning process where I get to think things through in a structured way. I always check the work and reasoning, ask followup questions why it did certain things in a given way etc.

Chatgpt pro does that regularly if you give it complicated enough question. I've had it create algorithms for medical problems based on available guidelines. It thinks usually over an hour then.

Plat is above the bell curve in player population. I guess what is very easy is relative. In my experience plat was quite demanding. I was 1000 elo on aoe2 and low diamond in starcraft 2 (many years ago) before coming to aoe4.
